Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
No.
I don't EXPECT the company to GIVE us anything, especially if we never even ask...

So you think we should just "ask" for a 200% pay raise? Well $h1t Timbo, why didn't the negotiators think of that strategy before?
Dam it, all we would've had to do is "ask" the company, during C2012 negotiations, for restoration & they probably would've given it to our pilot group.
That's an AMAZING strategy, & I think you should join the NC for the next Section 6 negotiations & see how that works out for you.

Gearjerk,
Please confirm? DALPA (through you, Ed Harley, and the rest of the lowballers we're about to see) is already lowering expectations for C2015?
CIRCLE: YES or NO
but...but...I though we'd "get them next time!" apparently DALPA's not even selling that any more.
The company thought nothing of DEMANDING a 42% pay cut, and FLUSHING over $4 Billion of our DB money, in one fell swoop. We should be DEMANDING full restoration, NOW!
The first $1 Billion in profits came right out of our paychecks.
Oh, and Richard just got a 42% raise, from $8 Million to over $12 Million.
I think a 25% raise, per year, for the ones who SAVED Delta from liquidation is not at all unreasonable.

If not, it smacks of Washington, DC. Do as I say, not as I do. I'm tired of the "me too" culture. The FA's don't fly my airplane, land in 33 kt crosswinds, fly down to mins in dreadful weather, etc. I love, however, loving on our customers. As most of them do.
I'm a huge RA fan. He should, in turn, be very appreciative of the pilot group who made this merger a cornerstone for the industry. And one, I might add, that no other pilot group has yet to achieve.
Let's not accept what US Air, UAL, SWA, et al, have agreed to. We're not them, and they aren't us.

NO, I am not trying to "lower expectations", nor is anyone else, as far as I have interpreted the comments.
I think there's a realistic expectation & asking for nearly a 200% pay raise over 3-5 years IS NOT it. I would bet money, to the charity of your choice, that you didn't even do the math on 35%/15%/15%/+10%. Did you realize that would put our 737 Captains,in 2019, above the highest 747 pay rate the company has ever given. (Plus $100.)

My bad, got you & Scambo mixed up in my quoted responses. (Typing on my iPhone.)

But your willingness for appeasement, in the face of record profits, after gutting our pay and retirement plans to attain those record profits, is not a strategy either, not if you ever want to restore the profession, or reclaim our pay/retirement money now being given out as Dividends.
And as Buzz points out, we are not UAL/CAL or AA/USA.
Someone has to be at the top of the pay/benefits pyramid, I think it should be Delta, not Fed Ex, not SWA. BUT... are YOU willing to strike to achieve significant gains? That's always been the real question. Most Delta guys aren't ready or willing to walk away.
Why not?
Well, what did you think that rocking chair was for?
Delta hires a risk averse personality type, that has been proven over and over. How I slipped through is anyone's guess, the Doc. must have been drunk that day. But if you aren't willing to stand up for yourself, and at least try to reclaim the sacrifices we have made in pay and retirement, then come time to renegotiating our next contract, well, you might as well bend over, again, and say,
"Thank you sir, may I have another?"
3%?
For the next two years?
Paid for by reducing our profit sharing by 33% in the highest profit years?

I know what I want my W-2 to look like. And what it should look like in a successful, well positioned, Fortune 500 company. It's not anything like it ought to be. Make no mistake, the execs are getting theirs.
I've never been a "just say No" kind of guy. That's not a strategy.

A nice start would be for the company, during this time of significant profits, to reinvest in it's employees a little just by not raising our insurance costs. They can easily afford to just keep the plans the same. I figure that between that and the reduced profit sharing that 3% will be more like 0% - inflation...

I want........................................One MILLION Percent! (put pinky to mouth)
You said it perfectly. Some are obsessed with what other airlines make, particularly SW. I have no idea how SW will fare over time, but I don't want to be tied to their fortunes: I want to be rewarded to my contribution to my company's success. Ours have been immense.
Our contributions > our company's success > our company's ability to pay > our returns on contributions.
Our contributions > our company's success > our company's ability to pay > our returns on contributions.
I don't want to be greedy. But, I don't want to be restricted because the other groups aren't doing as well. When they get it together, they can use us as a way to catch up. (We can leave behind some breadcrumbs, or something, to show them the path.
) Just because we are leading, doesn't mean we have to slow down.
