The company has until 1800 on the 4th to post the CQ bid awards. Usually they are done prior to now, but since today is the 3rd they are probably still in the CQ bid run process.

Nothing is "guaranteed" until the contractual timelines. So you aren't "guaranteed" any bid packages posted on DLNet or PBS access via NavTech until 1800/04th of every month.

Though often times we can get the next month's info a day or so early, consider that a bonus early peek at next month's trips.

Hypothetical...

7 days on reserve. Get a 4 day trip followed by a 11 hour rest period. Once the trip is over, if they don't already have a trip or short call assigned, when is the soonest they can assign something? Also, what if any obligation is there to answer the phone during the rest period? Trying to figure out if they can extend that rest to 24 hours while I'm in the rest period to make me legal for another 3 day assignment or do they have to wait until the rest period is over to assign more rest (thus breaking the rest)

I'm sure that's ridiculously confusing.

Bump. Still haven't gotten an answer to the question yet. Just trying to help.

The 717 did get off the gate, but about :20 mins late. No idea what the delay was about. I'm sure the mechanics will get the a/c squared away, and reliable. Wasn't that way in this case, yet.
The problem might be that we have Boeing expectations for a Douglas product. After a while you just apply the high speed rejected takeoff criteria; fire, failure, fear ... outside of that it will probably make it from Atlanta to Jackson Mississippi and back.

The Europeans didn't think of ugly airplanes first. Douglas was already there.

For the correct answer, call DAL ALPA and ask to speak to scheduling, or go on to the ALPA scheduling forum and ask there.

I'll give it a shot.

If after your 4 day trip ends, you check your schedule as required and there is no trip or SC, you immediately go on Long call. So you could then be leaving the airport, they could call with a trip 12 or more hours out, or a SC assignment that starts within 10 hours (plus 2 hour show, 12 hours)

There is no obligation to answer the phone during your 12 hour long call, but you have to acknowledge any trip/SC assignment prior to 3 hours to show. If they put you on a 24 hour break (1 in 7) you have an obligation to check your schedule 9 hours prior to that 1/7 ending. They do have to assign the additional rest after a trip (to make it a 1/7) prior to starting the 1/7 rest.

What I see scheduling doing is, while you're on the last day of that 4 day, they'll add additional rest at the end of your trip to make it a 1/7 if they think they'll need you. So when you do your post flight schedule check, you'll see it (and have to acknowledge it) then.

All this is going to change Jan 2014 when we go to the 117 rules, I'm just not exactly sure yet.
