Follow up on post by Buzz, flew a 900 last week.
Generally I was impressed! Plane seemed much more stable about the pitch axis than the 800, and seemed very "smooth" to fly. Hand flew it a lot, liked it. The roll trim and rudder trim were spot on, no need to mess with those at all. Power at TO seemed decent, and we did both 5 and 1 flaps TOs. I was gonna post my "Pitch Awareness Report" from my first TO, 2.03 pitch rate lol... guess that dang report did me some good!
Airco seemed to hold temps better than the 800, I was able to quickly set (there were already FO temp cheater lines penciled in!) and forget. And it appears there is not a cold spot at row 10 anymore, it has moved aft to around row 17 which makes some sense.
Luggage in cockpit-- seemed the height of the luggage spot was and inch more, maybe, we had no issue rolling two in there. However, I would NOT want to put my bag in that closet behind first class we're supposed to, as a commuter!
Landed decently, I ran the power a bit longer than I might as I didn't want to be the first scrapee. Working the new FMS panel with VNAV button and Fix moved, and no climb/cruise/descent buttons, was a pain at first, but should get used to it.
Flight att told me the aisle was narrower, and harder to roll your bag down, I didn't try though. And they were telling customers the new bins didn't hold as much, which isn't how I understand it, but they were ready to start checking bags at 50% full as they thought the bins were smaller (first time for them too).
In all, though I didn't like flying halfway across the country at 300, it seemed like a nice plane.

Once I see GEG added, then I'll know we are going directly after Alaska. That's a milk run for AS but GEG doesn't have hardly any incremental international feed, which is what we're generally doing in SEA. The old Orient guys will remember the 7x daily GEG-SEA back in the day with 3 DC-10-40's running.
remember if this song gets in your head, vote no to FSU.

A couple of lipsync'n print models voiced by moonlighting Disney vocalists beat Emily Saliers and Amy Ray out of their "Best New Artist" Grammy. Might as well have given the Grammy to "Simba, The Lion King" because, damn, his songs sound just like Elton John.
Tried to find a good period clip from the day on Letterman or Leno, but you can tell Emily is scared to death in that format. Remember, these girls had been playing the streetcorners around Little Five Points and Decatur not 18 months before. Amy is the honey badger of live performance ... she don't care. So, aside from the fact this whole song is E and open A ... at least Emily put some cool rifs on it.
Oh, and if your looking for a really yummy breakfast, try the Candler Park location of the Flying Biscuit Cafe. Emily always loved to cook and used to have some great after parties. Her hobby gave birth to that restaurant.
Anyway, the Grammy for "Best Folk Artist" should be renamed the "Jackson Brown award for best obscure performance that nobody outside of a small, but enthusiastic, fan base gets."

Not that I'm completely against image over substance ... I just don't want it in my ears.

Do this after you have clicked on the X for your position and gotten the stupid password authentication thingy.

Can this only be done from the Crew Room?
This is in more than one thread. Section 12 J. Reserve Duty Period Average applied at the end of the bid period addresses this. If 5:15 per qualifying duty period flown by a reserve pilot is greater than accumulated credit and guarantee, then you get the difference as pay/no credit above what you already have. It has been addressed, but I'm all for improving it.

No, but as of the last time I looked it would only work on the "A"'s that were previously available. The "B"'s were not posted as of last night so they probably won't work until tonite at earliest.
Nevermind, the X is working again.
