Well with this they will get their wide body CA seat. Nothing that you can do to change that. Even a fence will not stop it.

Any GB guy who wants a WB seat can get it these days. The fences are long gone. Nu |

So you're saying that if a senior Rebublic guy on the A320 wants to fly the whale, he can displace a more junior guy, or does he have to wait for the more junior, younger guy to leave before he gets the seat? The fences may be gone, but the damage is done if the only way to hold the seat is to wait for a younger guy to retire.
Last time I checked, it's '08, and we're all Blue. If a position is available, then the SENIOR pilot gets it. With that said, had the 787 been on time, it wouldn't have been called the "Greenliner" for nothing. Nu |

You guys may in fact be all blue, but what good is it if there are no "blue" seats to bid into? Its kind of a bummer to have 20 years of NWA screwed up seniority battles corrected on the backs of the Delta pilot group. And to further amplify the previous statement I mean that by the time the senior narrow body catains can successfully bid onto big equipment, they will be bidding on DAL aircraft against DAL pilots who did not benefit from the 20 years fences that screwed them. There will be problems created because you have a bunch of senior pilots who are former Republic that are still narrowbody captains, while we have some very junior pilots who are holding widebody because no one wants to be on reserve. Those are the kind of issues that will be tough and need to be addressed, but in a nutshell I think relative position by equipment.
The Redbook/Greenbook/Bluebook died in 2006. Fences have long since been down. I find myself edumacating a number of the captains that I fly with on this. People at NWA hold what their seniority can hold now. Doesn't change the fact that the RB/GB guys still hate each other. :) It wouldn't be NWA if there weren't something to hate. |
