Look at their balance sheets....

Yeah there is no freaking way a flow will be opened up between 9E and DL. So they are going to give a flow to people who had a 70% bust rate on the interview?? Notta chance!

lulz... Cleveland.... the mediocrity continues.
See that little rubbing the fingers together give me the money gesture.

Kid is a tool. Cleveland is perfect for him.

Then you see kids drafted showing raw emotion and tears. I'll take one of them any day over Johnny.

Basic English aside, you're pitching a pipe dream.
Erdude is... well.. a 7ER dude. So, his proofreading skills were probably pretty ok on his application.

That being said, the flow won't happen.

Default Stupid New Guy Question

Ok for all our resident contract experts I have a couple of questions.

1. Do new hires get paid per diem for the observation flights and OE trips?

2. Does the positive space perk for training apply to OE trips?

There seem to be a lot of answers out there to these questions both ways. For bonus points where exactly can I find this in the contract? Thanks all!

But that's just me (apparently) And regardless of what the British Airways CEO says, DAL ain't gonna pay up for an airplane that "needs help". His view of the world is just a bit different than ours too, which makes a huge difference. Maybe the additional EC seats are what's needed. Maybe BA will offer up a discount. Maybe The Browns will win the Super Bowl next year or the Cubs will win the World Series...
The needs help comments applied to Delta's fleet only with the stupid seating we had. That's been now fixed with bringing the seating up to where it should have been relative to its size.
The worldwide airline market has spoken again and again. The 777 is a mega hit for Boeing and May well turn out to be the single most successful airliner ever built.

So a DCI guy flies pax from somewhere to ATL for Delta to fly on, does that mean a C-17 pilot who flies troops from Afghanistan to Qatar where Delta picks them up to fly home is also a DCI pilot?

I can't say for observation flights for sure but a 90 percent yes. OE flights will get per Diem. You will not get positive space to IOE flights. If the rotation is built out of base or away from ATL if that is considered your current base then you will be a PS deadhead.

Look at their structure also. How many Airlines does France have flying to the US. How many airlines does the US have flying to France?

Dude,

Did you really just write this and then tell us not to stroke out? Now I'm pretty ambivalent about what background a Delta Pilot comes from. It's good to have a diverse pilot group. DCI pilots are not Delta pilots because.......................wait for it............................they are not on the Delta Pilot Seniority List. It's as simple as that. My, and others, background has no bearing on that fact.

I don't want to start a military vs civilian debate but I can't help but see what you think with your comment about what would be fair and right..... You don't think a military guy has paid his dues like a civilian?

I say, once pilots, either military or civilian, come on the property the first day, they are all equal. That's what the whole hiring process is about. Finding guys that will be a good fit. To a man (or woman), all the guys I fly with, whatever their background, are extremely qualified.

As far as stroking out, not a chance! It's just not in my nature...I hope Ferd would agree.

Denny
