I'd be very suprised if it ended up being 1:1 though. As we agressively continue our seasonal abandonment of the great ER buildup of 07-08 in favor of feeding Skyteam hubs with larger gauge equipment, I can't possibly see how it would be 1:1 unless we go back to those routes we've already pulled ER's off of most or all of the year and put 330's on them. Highly unlikely. Any 330 that is an ER replacement smells of "capacity dicipline" big time.

Pilot Hiring
New Hire class 11-2014 will began on May 5 bringing the total number of new hires this year to 24. Flight Operations anticipates hiring approximately at least 50 pilots per month through April 2015.
Including the class that started today, 12may, we hired 298 pilots in 2014.

I really hope they didn't throw RSV's under the bus. Nothing on day one before noon needs to be in whatever they agreed to, and a 2 hour long call leash to preserve 12 hour call outs is absolutely unworkable. LC will have to increase as well.

No idea what's coming, but the tone was certainly upbeat. As for the 1:1 330/767 replacement, I agree it's unlikely but keep in mind that there will be more overflying of Narita in the future requiring aircraft that can do that mission. It's hard to say where it will put us from a fleet perspective. It seems like everything flying is chock-a-block these days.

Just spent the weekend in ATL and the rumor floating around down there is 850 per year forever including 850 total this year.

Effective, balanced letter from MD, I thought.

In theory they could call me at midnight and say I have a 1200 sign in for a trip.
True, but you wouldn't have to acknowledge that hypothetical 1200 report until 0900, making you illegal to accept it...
