Anybody know how the Flight numbers are determined? Finally just looked @ the DTW DC9 Bid Pack & all the flight #'s are 7000 series. No big deal, just thought it was weird. That, & I may have problems spitting out those 7000 series flight numbers!

The reason I read from the supernerds on airliners.net is that it had to do with the DC-9 being the first NWA flights fully under the DL code..... something like that.

Try LAX man. LAX, SNA, BUR, ONT. Let me tell you, none of these airports are close to each other. Why don't we have transpo? Because ATL pilots don't give a rat's ..s about NYC and LAX and guess what, they are negotiating our contracts...

That's why.

I thought they sound a lot like regional flight numbers. Just thought it was weird.

What they really meant to say was: it will have an unlimited life span due to the composites...and the fact that it will never leave the hangar.
