Anyone done BCN on vacation recently?

I found a note on mycrewguide saying we can get the crew hotel for 76 euro/night, but that was about a year ago...Anyone done this recently? What's the mechanism to book at this rate? Their website starts at 122/night.

Any other recommendations for the area? We're going to be flying in with 2 young kids (under 6) and then training over to France to meet some friends. I need a few ideas of how to entertain everyone for a few days in BCN - I'm thinking the beach but have never been over there.
..PM sent..

The last two summers I've had no problem working Sun-Wed commutable trips on DTW 7ERB, I've moved up 10-15% in category in the last year, and this year the best I can get is commutable trips that start Saturday or Sunday early AM sign ins. I don't know what's going on but I've moved up a significant % and have a worse schedule than last winter. I had to bid reserve this month to get the days off I need. No Es bueno!

Default Reserve coverage

Just an observation, and wondering if anyone can chime in. I've been on the 7ERB out of LAX for a couple of years, and I've never seen reserve coverage so bad! Wanted to move a few days around, but there's not a single blue day in the month of July, and in fact, the reserve required vs available is way under water for every day of the month. It was the same in June. By contrast, ATL has 15 blue days, SEA-19, MSP-24,(but NYC only 4.)
What does the 4th floor have against us west coast guys?
Maybe I'm just imagining a bias!

How long have you been here. The center of the universe is ATL. The further away from the prime meridian, the less consideration you get. Unless you're NYC, then you still get disregarded, proximity notwithstanding.

NYC is about the same on the 7ER. We started the month with 1 blue day.

I figured that out 25 years ago, and moved here. What are YOU waiting for? If you can't beat 'em...

In this seat a little over three years- you'd think I'd know better by now..
On the other hand, green-slips are going out left and right around here. Gonna have to try a little rolling thunder next month!

Actually some regionals have better systems.

A simple clause in DAL PWA to the tune of: "no pilot shall be on duty more than six calendar days with out an 'X' day."

So even with a 30/168 rule... We would still have to have a day off every six days. Or change it to every five days etc. And heck, make the statement waivable by a bidding pilot if they choose.

That's just an example... But one which should be given thought. Im shocked mother delta has schedules like this. Isn't delta the best? We shouldn't be away from home more than 4 days at a time. IMO.

I don't disagree with most of what your saying however I don't mind backing trips up sometimes if it is to my advantage. I think there should be a clause that unless waived no more then 6 days...2 back to back 3 days.

Next month I was able to get a big block at the beginning and end of the month that I needed...in exchange I am working 14 out of 16 days.

It would be impossible to fly the international operation with a 4 day max. Prior to the merger there were no domestic trips longer then 4 days but the NW guys like the longer trips and lobbied to keep them.
