Now if you are painting your house and you have 8 different painters available, are you going to pick the most expensive, or the cheapest? Ostensibly Virgin is a better brand than Delta too (although buy Delta tickets when I buy tickets).

We allowed this "portfolio of carriers" thing to flourish with the RJ flying that nobody cared about. Now we are becoming a niche player in our own airline.

We need our contract to recognize the Delta MEC. We need to unify Delta flying under the Delta MEC. We need to start making the structural changes which will bind this company to our pilot group.
Paint the Cseries in the Skyteam livery....

Well, for starters, the Delta MEC could take over the Endeavor MEC.

A new update has been sent out correcting their previous statement, FWIW.

It doesn't matter if we ARE entitles these days for a couple reasons

1- can't get through to Crew Acc. I had to call CPSC, who in turn emailed scheduling, who in turn WALKED the email down to Crew Acc. We need to start complaining LOUDLY about the lack of access to Crew Acc during IROPs.

2- when the schedulers for the Md88 see an FO - they reroute us. No way in h*ll will they let an FO lay over in ATL. We need DALPA to scream loudly to have the company increase the PBS staffing formula for some of our categories.

Also - I suggest we have the company allow us to have "preferences" for domicile layovers like we do for training. Will you need a hotel? Yes or no. Will save some time and stress - with pilots and the crew acc folks

Agreed. This is for pilots who live in base as much as commuters. I have been stuck away from base without a hotel room due to my flight out cancelling. This happens to ATL based crews flying through NYC frequently as well as NYC crews flying through ATL. It is frustrating and embarrassing. I have worked for three different airlines and this is the only one where I have ever found myself at a layover with no hotel assigned and no way to get a hold of anyone without sitting on hold for an hour. The irony in this is that this is by far the best company I have ever worked for. That tells me that these situations should not happen. Our system needs fixed. The company that runs crew accommodations needs to be replaced, and these jobs need to be brought in house.

So, what I am gathering from your statement though is that IF our MEC decided to fight a traditional battle with the company for C2015, we'll lose dearly in the end because things are about to change? All of it centered upon that pesky first section of the contract?

So we're the British lining up shoulder to shoulder to charge a hill in WWI that is manned by German machine guns? Or we're like Detroit UAW workers decades ago fighting for more compensation as GM unloads robots that can build cars better, faster and without any Monday hangover issues?

"Welcome on board Skyteam Airlines, this leg from Tampa to Atlanta was brought to you by Delta Air Lines, if your next leg from Atlanta is to the other side of the world then you will probably be on a brand new A380 or 777-300 obviously flown by another Skyteam partner."

Carl,

As I stated, a start is to include the Delta MEC in "recognition" so that Delta is bound to negotiate "Delta flying" with the pilots of "Delta Air Lines."
