Air France-KLM to begin seasonal, nonstop service to Miami
August 13, 2014

Air France-KLM announced it will begin operating seasonal nonstop service to Miami from its hub at Paris-Charles de Gaulle.

Beginning Dec. 1, Delta’s trans-Atlantic partner will operate up to 7 weekly flights to Miami until the end March 28, 2015, the end of the winter season.

The flight are a joint venture codeshare with Delta, and will be operated on Air France-KLM’s Airbus A380 aircraft.
Since the JV is currently out of balance, the "cure period" requires the company to do this in order to rebalance and comply with our PWA.

Oh wait.

The take away from our last Quarterly Earnings call was that Delta's Executives see Delta, Air France, KLM, Virgin, Alitalia, DCI, AeroMexico and GOL as a single airline and manage marketing as such.

Now if you are painting your house and you have 8 different painters available, are you going to pick the most expensive, or the cheapest? Ostensibly Virgin is a better brand than Delta too (although buy Delta tickets when I buy tickets).

We allowed this "portfolio of carriers" thing to flourish with the RJ flying that nobody cared about. Now we are becoming a niche player in our own airline.

We need our contract to recognize the Delta MEC. We need to unify Delta flying under the Delta MEC. We need to start making the structural changes which will bind this company to our pilot group.

Tell Caplinger and Company... apparently they didn't get the memo.

Where do I find the number to call if I have a question about the PBS awards?

Looks like the schedules are out via the front door now. SEA 330 A's are out for sure. I'll PM you yours, if you want.

Thanks NewK. I got it and am a bit disappointed to say the least. Trips were available that fit my bid and yet I was sent to reserve. "Somebody has some 'splainin' to do Lucy!"

Of course I'm never right about these things but I would like to know "why." But I have already figured out how to stay home the first 4 days of the month that I'm on call. I just need to get close enough to 100 in 28. That is easily done with my august schedule.

Would those trips put together have gotten you in the LCW?

Did anybody see the latest weekly update pertaining to domicile layover? It says that pilots are not entitled to a hotel if we get rerouted into a domicle layover. This is incorrect!!

Indeed it is. Any pilot who was denied a hotel during a domicile layover should run, not walk, to the phone to call the ALPA office -- 800-USA-ALPA.
