Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Flying Elvis,
To answer your first question, you would put in a GS for the situation you described. A GSWC is only when the trip you pick up "conflicts" with one you already have on your schedule.
For your second question, I'm not sure what you me by "which day to take off of [your] current schedule" means. If you mean where are your payback days going to be put, you don't have a say in that matter--- IF they can give you back the payback days in the current bid period, that's where they're going to go, beginning immediately after the 9 hour partial x-day you receive upon release from your rotation. (Reference Section 23.S.11)
If they can't give you the PB days in the current bid period then they will show up on your timecard (at the bottom) as "Number Payback Days Available For Use."
23.S. 11. says "A reserve pilot who flies on an X-day due to an IA, GS, or reroute will be given nine hours free of duty upon his release at the completion of his rotation.
a. His X-day(s) will begin immediately following such nine-hour period and will continue until he has received a period of 24 hours free of duty for each interrupted and remaining X-day in his scheduled X-day block.
b. If the remaining days in the bid period are insufficient to contain the X-day(s), the pilot will be granted an additional day(s) off under Section 23 S. 16.
Good luck!

Endeavor attrition/ETD update.
We've lost 26 pilots so far in August. The attrition rate has almost doubled.
Of the 14 EtD hires, only 4 showed up to class. The kicker here is that EtD pilots must be qualified for Delta, so the people who don't show up to 9E, are the ones getting hired at other major airlines. Why management would think this is a good idea, is beyond me.
Market forced scope recapture is coming soon, maybe in the next 6 months.
