There are a few paranoid guys on the 747 who have asked me, "When the fence comes down, how many of you 777 guys are going to bid it??"
I can honestly say, none that I know of. That goes for the F/O's too, not a single pilot I've flown with since the merger has ever said, "I can't wait for that fence to come down so I can bid the 747!"
There are several reasons why I have no desire to bid it, and from talking to other 777 guys, they agree:
1. going back to school for no pay raise
2. commuting to DTW in the winter (vs. ATL)
3. the 9-12 day trips they have
Now, I do know of one senior guy on the 767-400 who told me he will bid the 747 as soon as the fence comes down. I asked him why not bid the 777 instead, he said, "Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to fly it..."
So, I guess there are a few of those types out there who might do it for both a pay raise and the thrill of the whale, but I'm to lazy too go two school, for no raise, and then have to watch 4 engines again!

I'm with you...had a 76-4 guy come over to the 33, I asked him why....are you more senior? No, you do know the pay is the same, yes...I don't get it...so why? He liked where the aircraft went! Wow..just wow.
Not sure if the neighbors have seen it but we had a friend over who mentioned that evidently the police were doing surveillance on someone. I was happy with myself.

I can't imagine surveillance is new to anybody in Forsythe County. Speaking of trouble, I hope Herman is not in dark doo-doo over his new kicks. Ref: APW's latest rant. Where is a dunking stool when you need one?

Guys,
Quick question on a transition trip.
June - Line
July - Reserve
If I drop a 4 day transition trip that operates 30 June - 03 July how does it affect my July schedule?
Will July 2 and 3 become on call reserve days, or do they become X days and subsequently cause the guarantee to be pro-rated?
Thanks - Scoop

While on a DL flight today, the captain gave my kid a trading card that had a picture of the airplane on the front and a bunch of stats on the back. Wife says it looks like a Delta produced card. Any idea where we can get these things? It's a neat idea and I would assume the older kids think its cooler than a set of plastic wings.

They are in operations at some stations. Pilots will normally grab a bunch to hand out as above.
