It's now conceivable, maybe likely, that no former Delta pilot will ever fly a 747. At least not left seat.
Time will tell what's going to happen, but I don't consider flying the whale a litmus test. It's a beautiful plane in DAL colors, no doubt. Hopefully (because I have no other power) it will be replaced by the 777. Now if you want to talk about how I got screwed in the merger, that's a hole nutha thing.

I'm about half way up in ATL, I guess it'll depend on how many retire, vs. displace into the DTW 777, vs. displace into the ATL 777.

It sure ain't gonna' help!

I guess now we know why they haven't replaced the 17+ ATL 777 Capts. who have retired in the last 18mo. They'll have PLENTY 747 displacements coming in Jan, no doubt!

I wouldn't want to be the plug on it today, they are toast.

That's not the point really, and you know it. Dead horse and all.... The bottom 30 are no factor for displacing and 777 guys... so the waterfall is well below that. And down it will go.

Didn't look at any other category but 9 SEA 767er captains left and none back filled...

Well, now that all the reserves can be used up to ALV+15, why would they need to backfill anything?

"We have notified the Association of these developments, and look forward to engaging in a discussion on mitigating displacements. More detail about our overall Asia-Pacific strategy will be shared company-wide this week. Please stay tuned."

Might this mean offering an early retirement option...............................???

Where was that sand (before it got into your ass)?

In Hawaii, or the Keys?
