A story from a bro that commands an army national guard company. He had a really good NCO part-timer quit, so he went to the guys house to try to talk him into coming back. Ends up talking to the wife. She says, he would love for him to go back, but we can't afford the dues! So, for 8 years this guy had convinced his wife that he wasn't paid for his work, but had to pay dues instead! Guess he had some splaining to do.

Not really late.. but I can retire comfortably at age 60 if I want to but do I want to quit?

Actually after all this time, I still like being at work but don't mistake me for some kool-aide drinking pollyanna style person. There are some REAL issues facing our pilot group in the next 36 months.

Would I miss the job... some of it yes!

Fly safe,

OC

What the young guys like PD don't get is exactly what you are talking about in your two posts. I won't even try to explain it to him because all you are to him is an impediment, but I understand completely where you are coming from.

So get out of my seat old man.

That is why I would recommend skipping the sailboat phase of life and go straight to the Trawler life style. Life is simple when you crank up the diesels and go at warp speed of 9mph! (WOT 10.2)

Thanks for your thoughts,

Fly safe,

OC

If either of you guys need a deck ape to help you with the jibs and spinnakers, hit me up.... you can stay in the cockpit and sip the Cabernet and change the Buffett CD once in awhile.

Hearing a lot more talk about the 777 serving Nairobi. Must now debate the lesser of two evils: malaria vs. training.

Hah!! Kids these days!!

Thanks for the kind words.

Why don't I get in the seat when you are finished flying the first half!! You can even come back up dealing with sleep inertia to make the landing!!

OC

T,

Don't need to do all that work on our boat. We are SLOW.... Best advice I have ever received in docking... never travel faster than the speed at which you want to crash into someone!!

The head waters of the Tennessee are on the short list this fall. I have heard some great things about the Tennessee Grand Canyon and wanted to experience the sights myself. We made it to Wilson Lake last year before heading south for the winter.

If we get there.. I will give you a call and we can share a few cold ones on the aft deck.

Fly safe,

OC

P.S. Do you have your Surface Pro for the Stan Meeting. I remember getting the memo we should bring it.
