You KNOW their 5 year plan changes every 3 weeks.
Can you explain how that would affect the outcome of the AE. they posted a certain number of positions so how would marketing have any affect on that unless they change the number of positions that were awarded and not follow the numbers posted.

Marketing changes would change the amount of backfilling.

Hopefully it was a good network change! Keep 757s a bit longer...

We get final wx so the agents have something to write the passenger count on.

We pull breakers on long sits so the guys who come out the next morning feel like they accomplished something by pushing the breakers back in.

I'm glad I could educate you.

Anything could happen if marketing changed their mind.

Not only backfills. They can cancel posted vacancies if they want to.
Right up to the time they publish the awards they can pretty much massage the numbers however they want.
Seems like they've been leaving at least some "contingent vacancies" unfilled on almost every bid lately. That's their preferred method for shrinking a category without giving anybody the benefits you get under a mandatory displacement.

The only thing they can't do is create new vacancies without posting them. That would require a new AE.

Shoot, that's the opposite of my understanding. I thought they had to award the amount of vacancies posted at a minimum.

Negative. They can cancel the whole bid if they want. Or any part of it.
