Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Well, no movement for me from AE. Didn't fully analyze what all didn't get backfilled... Taking just Crew Resources "won't backfill" words from their last newsletter and the AE, I'd say that lack of upwards movement happened due to, just like they said, not backfilling.
In my cat, of the 25 positions posted during the last 2 AEs, they only actually filled 6 of them, leaving 21 unfilled spots. So I'm not even moving "up" due to guys flowing into cat below me, increasing the cat.
Bummer, was hoping for at least moving up a single person.
HOWEVER, look at that NYC717A! The 2 junior guys were a 3/13/2000 pre-NW guy, (next pre-merge south guy below or above him is 6/4/2001), and a 6/4/2001 guy. They're not really statistical flyers either, as NYC88A goes almost that low, and they're near enough the other guys above them on the NYC717A list. So, it's fair to say that, if a guy has the ABILITY TO MOVE TO NYC and sit reserve, he could be a Capt from 6/4/2001 hire and older.
However, the exact same guys in LAX, SLC, and SEA can barely hold a line on NB FO, and are all sitting right about the lineholder/reserve demarcation. So this may actually just tell us more about how heinous NYC is as an assignment thus forcing waaaaaay juniority, rather than that things are improving for the 2000/2001 guys. Since I'm locked into a location/family situation/backupjob/city/upside-down-mortgage due to 6 years of furlough and what I had to do to survive, and can't actually move to NYC, I'm gonna say this is an indicator of suckiness for NYC.

Now cue TSquare asking me how I would have done better and asking me my plan for raises/restoration going forward.
I say we just ask for everything we gave up before and during BK. No raise, just give us what we gave up. Adjusted for inflation, of course. And we will keep any other improved areas of our contract and we can call that the juice on the loan

Ok, question on pay tables...
If I'm in 14 year FO pay (greater than 12), and say I upgrade to 717 capt in a couple months... do I get 1 year Capt pay from the tables, or 12 year capt pay? I'm thinking 12 year?

Yes... 12 year. The only pay increases you will get from then on will be for bigger airplanes or contractual pay increases.

NOVA analyzes the Malaysia 370 mystery. Excellent job.
Pay close attention to the EE compartment access.

They had a great segment on AF 447 a few years back as well.

I wondered the same thing. An ATLM88B in the 12000s also got an ATL73NB.... I was trying to figure out the displacement angle, but the award specifically states no displacements....
Ahhhh....!
Does the fact that these two guys have likely not finished (perhaps not even started?) training play into it?

The 21 unfilled slots will most likely be awarded to new hires.
