Interesting observation. Taking that thought a bit further, if the company suddenly decided to get A380s, we should not get a pay raise for moving to a bigger airplane. I mean, the company chose to get bigger airplanes, we didn't. Why should a pilot be rewarded for their decision?

You can't argue for a pay raise from a bigger airplane without accepting that a pay cut comes from a smaller plane.

That is one of my points about LBP. We have to move on from this shiney airplane thingy, because we have 18 super premium airplanes (after the whales are gone) and there are over 12,000 of us. Do the math and let me know how many will actually get to fly it for any appreciable period of time. Many if not most will NEVER fly it. So whoop tee freaking doo, it pays $500/hour for the 500 guys that are on it, and most importantly, it will do NOTHING for your retirement by the time you can hold it. nada.

And I'll buy everyone on this board a new car if DAL orders any 380s before I retire, but I'll betcha there will be more 737s... and 717s (if they can find them)... and yes we'll get 330s... but UAL and AAL have more 777s than we will have 330s, so by the current pay definition, once they get their payrates set,any new hire would be nuts to come here for anything other than the culture.

Sign of the times, from DAL rumor network "Why are the seat belt harnesses on the F/A jump seat on the 757 and MD 88-90 shorter than they used to be?"................. Hmmmm....... How does int'l work? Cargo tie downs?

What is the extent of Delta's civil liability, if any, if a passenger (or even a pilot) can prove he/she contracted Ebola on a Delta flight?

I would love to hear how you transition to LBP without many pilots taking a pay cut.

That said, I would be against it no matter what. I like the option now to choose a bigger airplane and more pay, or a smaller airplane with less pay but a better schedule. I believe that would go away with LGP.

Exactly. It's a lot easier to recover from ebola if you aren't stressed out.
