I had a somewhat cynical thought last night... Everyone was wondering why we had an early profit sharing payout on the 3rd. Some thought it was due to a tax advantage, some thought it was because of wall street un-ease with corporate give away that wasn't to share holders.
Then I noticed that the across the board raises went to everyone not on a CBA about the same time I saw the IAM billboard across from the flight attendant training center.
It is illegal to give money to a group that is trying to organize, but it is not illegal to give money to everyone at the same time.
BTW, I think our opening position should start 4% higher than our current rates when the agreement becomes amendable!
Maybe I am a conspiracy nut and i should put my tinfoil hat back on....

This has been going on forever. Every time the F/A's or ground people start talking about a Union, the company throws money at them to make it go away.

Upon closer examination, the fuel hedging "gurus" didn't fare so well.
Plunging oil prices should be a boon for us. Instead they costs DAL an additional $347 million charge for the quarter.
