The best reference I can point you to is the Scheduling Reference Handbook about page 106. It explains how to use payback days better than I can.

If you get a GS on reserve off days at the end of the month, and they cannot rollover, automatically become payback days should be reflected on your time card for the following month. To use payback days, go to PCS, Leave requests, payback days. To use payback days, the reserve available have to be above the reserves required for all days you want to use them over on reserve or the whole trip if using them to cover a trip.

To use PB days that have turned into Sup Days in Jan, Feb, and Mar.........read the SRH. It explains it much better than I can.

Newbie question: what does it mean when the RLL/projected line count number (and line is greater than the total number of pilots in category?

For those of you interested. Should be pretty cool if they pull it off and even if they don't pull it off.

Default Resreve Bidding question

Can you build a reserve line that only has a single day of availability prior to a 4 day CQ period?

The way I read the 3-99-5 rule The 4 days of CQ count as "days on" so it would actually be one five day block.

Is this correct, or would it not be awarded? I reveiwed the PBS gouge but it seems to contradict itself on this topic.

Note: I intend to check with the PBS help guys just thought I would throw it out here also.

Thanks Scoop

I've been told that the min days of availability don't count when they are next to something like vacation or CQ. I'm testing this theory with my Feb. bid. If it works and I get all the X days I bid for off........................I'll only be available for one trip that's in the bid package!

Let us know what you find out!

The short answer: Nothing.

The long answer: Delta lack of IT and Navtech are at it again...

But in reality, I'm guessing that's in the 717 category somewhere? Every 'new' category is going to be a mess until they get all the airplanes and all the pilots trained and converted.

I'm thinking of bidding the JFK A330 just so I can go to school first, then sit on my arse for 6 months while they train everyone else.

Then in a year or so, when they close it, I can displace back to ATL 777.

Oh wait...they already did that... with the JFK 777!

They would never do it again!

So: Bid what you want, and want what you bid, and don't be surprised when they change it.

It means they have enough pilots in the category for everyone to bid a RLL and still cover the flying. As mentioned by Timbo something you normally would see only in a new category or one near death.
