Smokey,
I have used the "Lt Dan" seat (2nd j/s on the 737) many a times and thank you for letting commuters sit there when it affects the leg room of the Captain. It has saved me many times throughout the past years and I appreciate it very much. Thanks for your post and great info. Respectfully |

We may still be figuring out that high-tech VNAV thingy, but hey our 2nd jumpseat has a seatbelt & shoulder harness, too. So buckle up tight and hold on, 'cause by golly, we'll still do whatever we can to help you get where you're trying to go. |

Every time I have J/S'd on Delta I have also been treated well. This issue bugs me because I just don't see any (good) reason for it to be this way & it's particularly discouraging to see the trend continue on with the bunch of new -900s ya'll are now receiving. :( |
couldn't agree with you more
cheers |
So...smokey23 thinks Delta pilots have the power to get more jumpseats installed. We just need to complain to management about it.
If b!tching up a storm is all pilots need to do to affect the company's decisions, why haven't you SWA guys b!tched your way into a new contract yet? |
I'd rather see an intercom in the 737 that doesn't require rubber bands. I had heard they were working on a mod for it but have yet to see anything. It's ridiculous to try to communicate in that environment and pretty soon this will be our largest fleet. I wrote one of our negotiators and a fleet manager about it but it fell on deaf ears. Catch that bit of sarcasm there at the end?

I might be off here but I remember hearing something about how much the second JS costs from CAL pilots. I guess not all of their 737s had it, some of the new ones didn't (if I remember right) because CAL balked at $45K/seat to have them installed.
Multiply that over 100 B739s and that's why they're probably not ordered. Demanding that they be installed, if that's even an option, is probably not going to happen. |
