From js'ing on the 320, it appears to be the same size cockpit as the 757. So the clear winner, based on the amount of time one spends in "the office".

P.s., A second js in the 73 torture chamber cockpit for 5+hr legs... um, no thanks... wouldn't do that to my worst enemy... well, maybe my worst enemy!

Wow. That's kind of what I figured. Not being able to recline, no place to stand and stretch, headphones mandatory, low hanging overhead, 5+ hour legs=physical misery. The kind I'd like to avoid, thus the questions. Thanks.

Ok, I know I'm coming in from left field, but quite interesting someone created a "Delta and Alaska" thread on here talking about possible merger, but I was in DTW the other day and another Delta crew were talking about a Delta and Alaska merger as well.

Now I know the drill with line pilots speculating and as the statement about opinions and rear ends goes, but what are the likely chances of an Alaska/Delta merger? I'm asking this in all seriousness because I know this would royally screw guys on the outside, like myself, trying to get on for at minimum another year. Of course I'm asking "line pilots" on this forum what "you" think, but some of you post pretty valid stuff and several of us on the "outside" know who you are.

I'm sure some are getting the popcorn ready:p.

Uhhhhhhhhhhh.........Short answer, slim and none.

Longer answer: Now that Delta has started competing with Alaska out of Seattle, there is too much competition for it to be approved without some serious caveats.

So maybe the old saying is true. If after three days you can't tell who this arse whole is in the group, maybe it's you....

I'm not a cockpit reader, I never have been, but don't care if anyone does it. However, many years ago I was taught how to have reading approved in the cockpit...

Pull out a porn mag, put it on the center console, when he picks it up, the reading lamp is lit.

I actually find the 717 cockpit and seats fairly tolerable. I have no intention of flying the 737. Jumpseated a couple of times... Boeing blew it, no doubt about it.

Alaska's stock price is within 10% of it's all time high and 6X what it was five years ago. It seems to me the window of opportunity has closed on that union. Ramping up competition with Alaska doesn't seem like a sound business strategy for a carrier you want to buy either.

Thanks for the posts guys. This gives me some hope!

Just weird that it has come up again from different areas.

Thanks!

Anyone know while looking in iCrew, on the relative position within category screen, the NYC Mad-dog FO(B) shows the most junior pilot at 15,008 seniority????

WOW

That is why I said that it leads to more headaches a few posts back. Unless something has changed ACS will not let you be the person to sign for him/her on the other side. You have to fill out the UM stuff and put a name and number of someone that is going to meet them. I went through this a couple of years ago.

What about an EFB full of porn? Does the reading lamp still come on if it's backlit?
