Trying to take wife to NYC. More flts to LGA which I rarely go to... How do I get from LGA downtown? Does golden touch make the run often like they do from jfk? Also, was going to try to stay at roos... Are there other better deals for us in that area like maybe club quarters?

I found a good rate at the Hampton Inn times square about a week ago, very convenient for touring manhattan as you are inbetween uptown and downtown.

Not as romantic as the roosevelt, but the rooms were actually nicer and the free breakfast was in a very nice room and better than average. The hotel is much more modern than the roos. Also you are just a few blocks away from the circle line boat tour if you into sightseeing the hudson, eastriver and lady lib, etc, nice way to spend a couple of hours. If your a vetran it's 1/2 off their prices.

LGA to downtown is easy via a short bus to queens and multiple subways depending if you want to get that full "NYC" experience or not. (only $2.75 per person with connection).
No flat rate cab fare like JFK to take advantage of.
Enjoy, we had a blast. Weather was absolutely perfect!

Internet doctor verification
 

Anyone have any info on how to verify a sickness with an internet doctor. The negotiators specifically mentioned "Now clinic" and made it sound like folks are using them.

Just curious how it works. Do you simply tell them you had a cold and they email you a letter stating that?

Take the bus to the subway it's cheap and takes about the same time as a cab. You can get the specific info from the info people who are next to the bus ticket kiosk. Also download the NYC bus app and the NYC subway app.

When are you going? There is a ferry to JFK at noon today. Take the Airtrain to Jamaica then the LIRR to Penn. Or Airtrain to Howard Beach and the A that goes all the way up the West Side of Manhattan. Plenty of hotels on Hotels.com, Expedia, etc. The Roos sucks if you don't want to sleep in a closet size room.

The cab ride is waaaaaaay less than Golden Showers who usually wants serious coin for the ride...

Ditto the Hampton Inn Times Square. Have also had a GREAT deal at one of the 5 stars....go figure...try Priceline or Hotels.com.

I use the NYC Airporter regularly. Should be about $15 to Manhattan unless you buy a book of tickets. It runs at least twice per hour from LGA to Manhattan and it is comfortable. Google it, all the details on the website.
