Scambo and Timbo always use the back door when viewing their schedules. No matter what.

Memory refresher needed: if I use a PD on day 1 (A) to get rid of a 4-day trip, can I WS/GS on days B/C/D? If I use an APD do the same rules apply?

Does anything change if the PD/APD is used on day D (instead of day A)?

Thanks in advance.

Default Moving X-Days

Gents,

What document do I look up to find the rules on moving X-days?

To PD a trip, you put in a request to drop the actual trip. Reserves available have to be greater than reserves required on each day of the trip. If one or more days do not have required reserve coverage, your trip will stay on your schedule, but will show up in open time as a Q trip, giving someone else the chance to do a white slip pick up. If your PD is successful (or somebody white slips your Q trip), you are free to white slip/green slip on any of the days.

To use your APD, there has to be at least 25% reserves required,(except during certain holiday periods). You can drop a trip with just one APD day, but then you can't white or green slip over the dropped day(hence the reason to only use one day if you want to pick up something else) Also, you can only APD one trip a year.

ALPA -> Committees -> Scheduling Reference Handbook -> Scheduling Reference Handbook 201412 -> page 94.

I was just looking at this again to refresh. Best of luck!

Thanks Omar, I knew there was [a lot] something I was forgetting.

Don't knock it 'till you've tried it!

Just remember, once you go back door, you'll never come back!

Bid award alert: If you back door'd your award yesterday, check the front door today.

Someone above mentioned they pulled them down yesterday, and then put them back up, they must have rerun them because my award changed from the first posting to today's posting. So go check again if you haven't seen today's postings.

I actually got a better line (days I wanted) in the second run.

Thanks PBS QC guys!

(I may have to rethink going back door! My wife will be happier, no doubt!)
