I've gotta figure out what to do for 34 hours in PTY. have not been to panama before. Any suggestions?
I haven't been there since the invasion, so things have changed a bit. Still, I would go see the Mira Flores locks (or any of the other locks) on the Panama Canal and watch them in action. It's pretty impressive. Most of the hangouts we knew of don't exist any more. The seafood is excellent and there are a lot of great restaurants.

Fairy new at the company. Does anybody know if we are allowed to sleep in the crew room overnight? Or is it frowned upon. I have a trip coming up where I land at midnight and leave the next day at 7am. Seems like a hotel would be a waste.

Pretty common practice for a lot of new guys, and CA's, for that matter. Have done it for the same reason myself on numerous occasions and found I was not alone. Depending on your domicile it is almost cost prohibitive to suck up a hotel room cost on first year pay for 4-5 hrs of sleep max. Do what most of us do and pretend you've been around awhile and adjust the lights, put on a sleep mask, plug in some earplugs and hope that a couple chatty-Kathie's don't show up after their ER to HNL breaks again!! Cheers
