Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Any thoughts from today's AP phone interview with CEO-to-be, EB?:
Q: Are increased labor costs a problem?
A: Our people need to share in the success of the airline. We’re paying out bonuses equal to 21.4 percent of annual salaries, across the board. But we’ve got to stay disciplined. When we look back at our fourth-quarter results, we retained about two-thirds of the fuel savings to the bottom line. Some of it went, as it should, to improved employee profit-sharing and compensation, some of it went to lower fares, which were down 5 percent on average.
---
Ok, DAL has spent money to give everyone (except pilots) a raise. But how has the company "improved" profit sharing?

That has nothing to do with the way the bucket system was designed and trips are assigned from the buckets.
If you have 3 reserves available and 3 2-day trips in the pot all 3 guys are working a 2-day trip regardless of their days of availability. If you happen to be in the 4 day bucket your YS preference request is ignored when assigning the trips because you are not in the 2-day bucket. How stupid is that??

It's very stupid and I wrote 2 long paragraphs about it in our first survey.
I've seen guys come in from being out on the road 7-8 days get assigned to a 3 day trip, while everyone in the 4 day bucket sat home, probably wanting to do that 3 day.
Reserves should be able to YS outside of their bucket.
Like I said, I wrote it up over a year ago. Never heard anything back.
I think reserves at United can pick up trips 2-3 days out -- first come, first serve.
I am trying to both view my 401k options, and add some money monthly but I can't find where to do either. Can anybody help?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Not on reserve here, but could be and want to thank you for sending that in. If you just sent it in to the SOT (Scheduling Optimization Team) I would suggest CC'ing the company's schedulers as well. Not that they're going to care, but I don't think it would hurt.
If you took the time to compose and send it in the SOT it's a shame our union can't take the time to consider your input and compose at least an acknowledgement.
Twice I've sent in a suggestion/request that iCrew allow pilots to put in preferences for White Slips/Green Slips that include DH on the front end and specific destinations. As a commuter I would like to be able to pick up a trip that has a DH out to one of two airports I can get to easily for such trips. At least I got a reply, but not much more...definitely no action on it.

Thanks. I sent it on that first survey a year, or so ago, so I think it's long gone. I believe I even mentioned it on the second survey, when I was telling them to refer to the first survey, which were obviously ignored.
I just texted a fraternity brother of mine who's with United to see if they still have the same reserve system he described to me years ago. If so, it's far superior to ours, and yet another reason why we shouldn't be giving anything away.

I'm not saying there isn't some aspect of their reserve system that isn't better but there is no way you could say theirs is better overall. Just saying...

Somewhere or other I came across a seniority calculator that would instantly show your seniority in every seat in every domicile - all you had to do was input your employee number.
I don't remember if it was a link on here, Chit Chat, or even somewhere in the PBS help section.
Can someone pleas point me in the right direction.
Thanks Scoop
