Crew hotel recommendations for EWR? Anyone? Hilton says no discount.

Priceline.com, use the "express deals" filter, normally get a 3/3.5 star for under $80.

courtyard at the airport is about $107 out the door with taxes. Quick shuttle as well. Always gave me an "airline" discount. Fairfield will do the same.

Ditto. You can book those online by typing "DLA" in the corporate rate field on the Marriott website.

Code "DTF" works too. YMMV

Thanks all!

So if a trip won't go away on PD or swap, and reserve coverage is good enough for an APD, can I rely on dropping the trip with APD and then being able to pickup a "Qualified" trip on open time that's on a different day within the bid period?

I think what your asking is whether a Q trip will go through PCS even without reserve coverage as a pickup by you. Not sure on that, but....

If the pilot is trying to get rid of his trip as a PD without reserve coverage (hence the Q trip) then if he/she is smart they have also listed the trip on the pilot swap board which will go through instantly once the conflicted trip is APD'd off your line. Sometimes newer pilots don't understand the trade system differences between the open time bank and the swap board.

Thanks. It's not on the swap board, not sure why unless it's just a rookie move, like you said. There is no conflict between the trip I want to APD and the pickup Q on open time, I just don't want to drop my trip then not get what I want on open time. Need the other one to meet the G/S trigger after dropping. If I end up trying it out to see if it works, I'll report back so others know if PCS allows it

It will work fine. The drop will be approved and is long as the Q trip you want is not over the APD day it will be awarded as a pickup. I would use the rules auditor to insure you are legal for the pickup you want with no FAR issues.

I got it for 65 or 75 in training. Delta rate and TVL code on the website works too

You can't pick up trips on APD days. You can however APD say the first day of a 4 day trip, which will drop the whole thing, then fly the other three days.
