I think Tony Romo is done. Jay Cutler only plays well when he is due for a new contract. The Bears signed Jay to a big contract a few years ago and that's the last time he played well. They don't even have a decent backup QB anymore though. So it's going to be a long season.

Can you slide your vacation back if the original vacation flows into the next month?

You can only slide the vacation days that occurs in each month.

So - say you have the week of Oct 30-Nov 5th. Assuming the bid period for Oct ends on the 31st (no idea if it does or doesn't).

You can request to slide the Oct 30-31st anywhere in Oct bid period. You can also request to slide the Nov 1-5 anywhere in November when you bid November schedules.

Profits to managers, pilots not so much. Our scope ship has sailed, sailing. When those ER's start timing out, get ready for the coup de gras. UAL has west coast based 787, 747, and 777 pilots because they have a real network, with real airplanes. I know people there way, way junior to me living the dream. Scope was important. We F'd it up.
Ual has 747 787 777
Dal has 747 330 777 787 on order
Real airplanes

When our ers start timing out in 2020 they will be replaced by 787 whose orders were deferred to 2020
Do you see China Eastern flying from China to billings Montana? So why do you think we would be successful flying Seattle to a non major city in China? what airplane do we have right now that can expand into Asia? Could it be possible that we might start testing these markets with the 50 plus wide bodies we have on order from 2017-2022 - 350,330 neo 787
Also you said profits managers not us, did you not collect a profit sharing check last year?
Delta is not perfect, but I just don't think we are as far off as everyone thinks we are. And we have a ton less regional jets than American and United

Sorry to interrupt football season, but I had some questions for the reserve guru's.

What reason would someone volunteer for more short-call days? Is it solely to get the extra 1 hr of pay? Are short calls less likely to be used typically?

I live in base and am trying to figure out how to best work the system.

Also, if my preference is one day trips above all else, do I simply put that in the PCS option, "Qualifiers to be used only if needed to fly"? I put one day trips in that option, but it made it seem I was telling PCS I WANT to fly a day trip on reserve, as opposed to simply saying, "if I HAVE to work my preference is a day trip".

Hope this isn't too confusing. Thanks!

my guess is they live locally and are trying to either get in the next bucket, or knock out all their short calls for the month to max them out early so they cant be put on it later.

Short calls are less likely to be utilized because most of us give more than 12 hrs notice if unable to make a trip. Because short calls are the last line in the company's defense, the company keeps as many as they can and won't want to burn them if others (long call) are available for use.

Locals can volunteer for more short call to benefit from lack of relative use, and relieve the burden for those commuting in for short call. Be warned, YMMV.

I finished TOE on the ER last week and just picked up a trip to KOGG. I am getting an error message when I login to icrew telling me I am not qualified. If it matters both my TOE trips were to Europe but I thought my TOE sign-off was sufficient for both Atlantic and pacific theaters. Any ideas?

Mike,
The qual is for the airport. TOE doesn't apply. Some airports are a little more interesting than others so they require you to go to view the airport pages in iCrew and self certify. Takes about 5 minutes. Take a GoPro and walk up to Black Rock, then film yourself jumping off. Pretty cool.
Enjoy.
