Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Those of you that have gotten COVID recently, do you think you were exposed at home or at work? I was really careful early on, wiping the cockpit down, sanitizing my hands 30 times a day, but like many, I don’t know if it’s laziness or desensitizing, but I haven’t been as careful recently. I still haven’t gotten it.
I’ve been tested 3 times and tested once for antibodies. Negatives across the board.

From: 3+ hour sit in the ATL
I'm sure you complied with all mask mandates too.
Got sick 3 weeks ago. Fever 101.6, no other symptoms other than feeling like dog**** in general. Went to hospital. Gave me CV-19 test and influenza A&B test, all negative. Doc said it "was something viral". 3 days later no fever feeling better. No other symptoms. Another negative CV test before I went back to work (just wanted to make sure).
Dude, your body did what it was supposed to do.
Masks don't work, the protocols are basically eyewash for the masses. As evidence of us still catching the bug (or at least testing positive for it).
Your immune system, as a normal healthy person, is perfectly capable of handling 99.9% of viruses and bacteria.

I don't think the COVID threat is touching things so much. Although I think that sanitizing, washing hands, and not touching my face has helped with me not getting the regular cold and flu rhinovirus either. No, the biggest COVID threat is breathing it in I think. Mostly I try to stay away from being close to someone without a mask in a closed, non ventilated environment. Like a car, or small room.
So maybe the biggest threat is to be in the cockpit with someone who has asymptomatic COVID, or in a van or taxi with someone who won't wear a mask properly. Like my last hotel taxi drive who wore his mask around his mouth and chin leaving his big ole nose sticking out. A mask "pretender".
In spite of all the hysteria, to date there are about 13.4M reported cases of COVID in the USA out of a population of 330M. So that's about 4%. So 96% have NOT caught the COVID virus which doesn't make me feel so special after all really. Yes, those are approximate numbers, there are no doubt many more cases not reported, but there are also many more people in this country than the census has counted.

So how much is just "optics" or "eyewash"? Doesn't matter. It's better than nothing and if if makes people feel more safe so that they come fly with us, then it has achieved a purpose.
Even after the vaccine is widely available, mask and distancing protocols with probably be around for a couple of years. Not everyone will be willing to get vaccinated. So just get used to it.

I've had the flu. I will say, the flu was worse from the perspective of how severely, but acutely sick I felt. This one however, really wore me out with it's persistence. I was 11 days with an up and down low grade fever. Never had a fever that long before.
