Coincidence that this happened right after RA met with the Japanese transportation secretary?

Like someone said , DAL had a great Frankfort hub until open skies and within 2 years, it was gone. I have a difficult time going from a virtual monopoly to open competition will be good in the long run.

I think the AMR dudes were in the day after RA

I think we will need to see what the Henedia slots will look like. Also, I don't think open skies give AMR (for example) beyond rights from anywhere in Japan. But, it may give JAL more opportunity in say DTW. But, it won't give them beyond rights.

My admitedly small knowledge of the issue.

Here's what I guess after this AE:
0. NYC M88
1. DTW DC9
2. MSP M88
3. CVG M88
4. ATL M88
5. CVG 73N
6. NYC 73N
7 DTW 320

For you guys thinking of bidding LA, same story, it could be worse. I cover LAX, ONT and SNA. When I have a trip out of SNA, I drive down the night before and hotel it. Sounds to me like the NYC guys have it better...just cab over. That's off the charts in LA. I do, however, have a house you can buy which has been devalued by 35%. Its an hour from LAX, on a good day, and an hour and a half during rush hour. PM me if your interested.

Could someone tell me if I understand this correctly?

I’m on the 7ER in NYC. If I wanted to bid for 765 NYC I would place my bid on the AE preferences. Do I also need to place a bid to be VD to the 765 NYC?

When filling out the MD in case I get kicked off the 7ER NYC, how do I go about getting pay protected? I was under the impression that to receive 7ER pay I had to make my MD preferences by order of positions (page 22-2). So let’s say I get booted off the 7ER NYC, I would have to bid all other 7ER bases, then all other 767 bases, then all 73N bases, then 320 bases, etc. in order to receive my current pay? If I only entered one MD, example M88 ATL but I could have held 320 MSP I would not receive displacement pay from the 7ER?

Do I understand this correctly or did I just take something very simple and screw it up. My guess is that I screwed it up.
