1. On short call, will crew scheduling clear you straight to the gate on a minimum time call?
2. Is it customary for F/Os to log landings for the crew or do both do it separately?
3. How long after block-in on a layover must I wait for the hotel van before getting a cab.

Thanks,

1. Sure, you can check in via phone, the infamous VRU.
2. Usually the first guy to get to a computer logs the landings. If I'm first I will log all of 'em. I have had a few As that only log their own but no biggie.
3. That I don't know.

Welcome to the forum Vortex!

If it's a min time callout crew scheduling will help you make the departure on time or minimize the delay. If they are too busy you can call the sign-in desk and they should sign you in so you can go straight to the gate.

Some F/O's log the landings, some don't.

I can't remember the "official" wait time (It's in the FOM). Getting reimbursed can be a PITA.

It's possible you could convert in Jan and be the plug for 6 months even though you had a 50% restriction on your bid. The qualifiers are for after all conversions.
DTW777 is particularly vulnerable, since it's counting on 2 airframes yet to be delivered.

Dirt,

Thanks! That is what I was wondering. That would kind of suck.

In regards to remembering the Alpa numeric codes, on my cell I set up the number for crew resources in my address book. There is then an option to "insert" a pause and then you can add more numbers to the same entry. So when I call crew resources the number rings, is answered, then my employee number and password automatically start entering and I get signed into the system.

Just thought this might make it easier for guys having to use the alpha numeric code. I believe you can do this with most all phones.

Ya know, I'm going to start bringing gifts for the FO at the beginning of the trip. They do a hell of a lot at DAL.

Hopefully, that will make up for the fact that I cut and staple the paperwork.

Thanks

Gnewt,

Just went through the same drill!! I finally gave up and talked to the chief pilot support system dude, (real thick southern accent) and he forwarded me to them. The lady was nice and set me up even though by that time I was 2 hours late.

Good luck,
Ferd

PS VRS sucks!! Guess I need to rethink my passwork. At the present time it is 18 keystrokes...............

Hey, they are pretty easy! A couple of beers on the layover usually does the trick!!

I get the feeling, from recent posts, that you'll probably be OK if you don't wear a long sleeve shirt!!!!

Yes, this works great. If anyone needs the instructions for doing this on an iphone, just let me know.

Yeah I'll take it, thanks.

Sorry, feeling a little overwhelmed this morning. I forgot all about the room having to be done today, then noticed I had like 15 minutes to do it. I had printed out the sheet off the flight ops web site, and forgot I had it. So, tried my NWA pin.....to simple, should have known that wouldn't work Then tried to put the letters in like a text message with no * between them. Was going to throw the phone but my wife caught my arm. Called the chief pilot support center number instead.

Wanted to take my stupidity out on the chief pilot support dude, but I was a good boy. Guess I'm not the first idiot to call with this problem. When he told me what my pass word would be I responded "I guess I need to change that to all digits".

What a mess............in the words of a guy in the computer room in NRT last week........."I'm transitioned out"
