Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I had an IT bigwig on my flight from SDQ to JFK. She was a Yankee but came over and loves the new Delta. We bent her ear for a while and she told us that the sheer amount of work to combine the two systems has sucked all the time from every computer geek in the company. She also said that as soon once the get the reservation/inventory combined they will start looking at best systems and practices. She also was very interested in upgrading the public website to the 21st century and competing with other model web sites. Last but not least, she was attentive to our complaints and suggestions as pilots and wants to fix our interface and crew IT abilities.
Bottom line is they have a VERY LARGE bite of the sandwich and are chewing it as fast as they can. Add one more point to the plus merger column, Yankee computer systems and know how. (You don't know how much it pains me to say nice things about Yankees...not you NW guys, just yankees in general.)

Denny,
I've been wondering the same thing. With all the JAL and AS talk, Mesa's filing has largely been ignored.
One of their stated reasons for declaring BK was to expedite their litigation with DAL.
I'm not sure how being in bankruptcy moves that along faster. There was some speculation that DAL can terminate a DCI carrier if it declares bankruptcy. If that's the case I [personally] think getting rid of Mesa as a DCI carrier is a plus for Delta.

Perception more than reality. Our relocation package is very weak and we have yet to see what they come up with, if they come up with anything. Even FedEx is having problems staffing their Asian Ops and they have like a $3,500 a month COLA.
Just curious, what would keep SkyWest from pulling a Republic and setting up our Guam operation? New Certificate and they could use those big RJ's allowed under our scope, but as of yet not placed into service. It will be interesting to see how Jerry structures this. As we all know, Mesa's Asian home for orphan RJ's failed miserably.

Delta is at the max number of large RJ's. There are no more allowed unless the number of mainline aircraft were to increase substantially. In the grievance settled last year about the RJ's numbers the company agreed to use DALPA numbers for future RJ's. The aircraft would also not be suitable for that operation.
No names here on a public forum. Suffice it to say she was smart.
Any word on when the training dates will be out? I'm guessing Feb for me, we'll see!

Watching E190's go in and out of Quito. I didn't think they would be "suitable for that operation" either. Properly equipped with 4,200 miles of range, believe me if there was proper motivation this so called "regional" jet would be suitable in a hurry.
I thought there was still a 30 something 76 seat jet gap between the fleet and max allowed. If you are correcting my mistake, sincerely - I thank you.
With the potential for Alaska comes Horizon with its 56 70+ seat regional aircraft. we would enter scope negotiations and not allow that 3 to 1 ratio, wouldn't we? Anyone know the provisions for acquiring another airline with WO regionals? I'm just assuming we'd have to negotiate the outsourcing, but that might also be incorrect. This could be disastrous for Horizon.
Although I sure hate to, guess it is time for another mining project.

Hate is not the word for such a project Bar.
---
Got a call from an 866 number, it was Delta, canceling hudnreds of flights and expect extremely high volume to crew scheduling/tracking etc and so keep an eye on your schedule.
Some how I got through, I told them I knew of an ER pilot in NYC and a MEM DC9 B pilot that I knew weren't flying and are available for whatever they need tomorrow night.
