I know that I will not do it unless the reserve rules are changed. No way do I want to bid for 24 hr call outs.[/quote]

I assume you mean 24 hours of short call because a "24 hour call out" means you could legally be home and drunk. :)

ER pay is ER pay no matter what aircraft you are on. Same with the 76/757 Domestic you get paid the same no matter what aircraft your are flying.

Launda proper includes the only deep water port in SW Africa. It has a big harbor right downtown with a great night life..people tend to dance and drink heavily during armed conflicts! The main beach is very nice, and with a decent beach break. Sharks are common, but less aggressive than Cape Town, for example. I had a long board shipped in while I was there and pretty much got the whole town out with there jaws dropped to watch me catch a few rides!!

Thanks for the info, sounds like one hell of an experience. I guess now all I need to do is check the place out for my self.

The 757 and 767-300 are blended payrates. Your hourly rate is the same no matter what plane youre flying. It's basically a dollar or 2 less than the old NWA A330 rates.

The 757 pays the same as the 767.

New,
The 757 (ETOPS or not,) 767 & 7ER all pay the same hourly rate regardless of which one you fly. However, when you fly one of them internationally there is an override of a few dollar added.

So a CVG based pilot was giving me a run down of a newsletter or something that came from their Chief Pilots office concerning hiring, fleet realignment and so forth. Those newsletters I thought come out on the 1st of the month so I don't think this is the monthly one but I could be wrong. But this was drastically different then from some of the stuff I see batted around here and some of it was a bit confusing so instead of just regurgitating what he said I was wondering if anyone had seen such a letter?

Theres also some folks on the ALPA forum talking about big news for CVG tomorrow, the 17th. This person was very excited. Anyone else?

Probably the conversion of the 767 to a 7ER category in CVG?

"CVG Pireps" is a newsletter that comes out as a quasi-official source of rumor confirmation/denial to CVG-based pilots. Not much of note in the most recent edition except to float the notion that flight ops says there will likely be no hiring in 2009.

The big news for tomorrow (Monday 17th)? I don't know. Perhaps Delta's official announcement of their exclusive codeshare with Alaska?
