And everytime I ask about it I'm told Moak will not discuss the issue. Doesn't give me warm fuzzies about his direction.

So what are WE going to do about it?

I am a former ExpressJet pilot and current Compass FO. I will be happy to give you my name via PM to check my place on the list. I do not think that Lee is a bad guy, in fact I kind of came to like him during the presentation (his candid attitude and somewhat crass manner are just my style), but this is the feeling I can away with from the road show.

I, like most of my Compass brethren, know the score in this matter. We know we are dregs at the bottom, we just don't like it to be reminded of it . I don't expect anyone to sacrifice anything for my gain, I just want the flow to work so I can work with you all - sorry all y'all - someday.

I want you and your size of flying on our list. It also sounds like the economics may justify it.

Now you have Lee Moak, who is I thought was representing us, giving up on scope, not listening to the pilot group. Perhaps Lee could find a high level job elsewhere within our company. I don't feel as though I'm getting my 1.95% of representation from Lee.

I think the world of my Marine Corps brothers, but this is not giving me a good feeling about the leadership that Lee is providing.

What am I missing?

This is what I have been wondering for some time. There has got to be a reason that the MEC has such a gag reflex to all of this. I just wish they would communicate it with us.

Now I am willing to step up and run for FO rep here in ATL. I know that I am willing to tell those who have elected me that Lee is correct, if in fact he is, but I want to see the data. I just do not buy it.

Lets not get a head of ourselves.

We're not ahead of ourselves. You're just behind. It's time to get rid of ALPA and Moak. Moak is in it to make as much money for himself as possible.

RepublicofTexas 08-14-2009 01:52 PM

So you are willing to throw the baby out with the bath water?

ALPA has issues, but they are issues that IMHO are worth fixing.

INAV8OR 08-14-2009 01:55 PM

A guy with republic of TX as his nick, wants to stay ALPA... So, you would have left the Alamo too.

RepublicofTexas 08-14-2009 01:58 PM

Cute, it is the best I could do. All of the good ones are taken.

RepublicofTexas 08-14-2009 02:03 PM

Fact is that there are many things about ALPA that most never think about. The Aeromedical and Legal support for their airman is second to none. You never care about it until you are the ones that needs it. When it comes to your rescue you will swear by it for the rest of your career.
