You can reverse the priority on the off day requests, ie right to left.

I agree. I hate being called out on my first day of availability every week, have to commute out, and then see the long call guys get the trips and have my raw score remain at zero.

All,

Thank you for your inputs!!! For December I'm pretty much right in the middle of my category. I'm going to try and bid a regular line but do need some very specific dates off so my second group will be reserve. The company predicted amount of lines is 81 out of a category of 130 or so. So there will be about 50+ guys on reserve and I figure I might be able to move x days around if need be.

I've listed all the dates I want on line one prefer off and then adjusted the amount of days off down on the following lines in my bid.

With a min days on call of 4 days, it looks like I either need to take days off starting on the 1st or 5th since I'm not on reserve for Nov.

Again, thanks for all your input. It is greatly appreciated!!!

Denny

(I'd like to see 6:00hrs. per calendar day OR duty period, whichever is greater.)

5:15 Per day/duty period
63:00 in 12 days
73:30 in 14 days
5:30 Per day/duty period
66:00 in 12 days
77:00 in 14 days
5:45 Per day/duty period
69:00 in 12 days
80:30 in 14 days
6:00 Per day/duty period
72:00 in 12 days
84:00 in 14 days

:D16 days off a month and 84 hours too??? Throw me in that briar patch....now step away from the martinis please:p

add to that the upcoming attrition and you've got a lot of hiring in the next few years.

How do you add a large number of pilots with revenue flat, you will still be chasing the same nuber of pax. Just wondering

For us who live in the the DTW/Ann Arbor area, this is great news. We found ourselves having to use out of network providers or drive some decent (for us at least) distances to use in-network hospitals.

Nice that Delta pulled through on this!

Think the LEC in DTW had a lot to do with it...it would be nice to get the Mayo in network in MSP

You can't reverse the priority and make it right to left. What you can do is request a range of dates off (select the 1st through the 8th) and then select the reverse order but that actually places them on your bid starting with the 8th and working left to right down to the first.

I think that it is easier to just request the dates off that you want in the order you want them and the order you want them removed from your bid (if it gets to that line in denial mode).

Denny

With this logic, I assume that you are using forget and redo's??

I'm not really talking about increased pilot numbers as much as i am replacing the pilots that will be retiring in the near future. There are nearly 4500 pilots retiring in the next 10 years. So just considering attrition, increased rest requirements, and potential growth you have a significant amount of pilots needing to be hired in the next few years. Should be interesting.

I understand the point you're making but after the bill is passed theres not much we can do about changing it. Revenue wont be flat forever and this change wont take place over night like they did with age 65 either. In the meantime we need to get the payrates up to compensate for the potential of lower credited hours.

the regionals will be hammered by this though because the regional pilots typically have to fly 100 hours a month in order to credit enough time to make any decent money since the rates are so low. Its going to be interesting.

Question: I tried to look up my bids from last December on PBS. I can see back a couple of years, however, Nov. and Dec. are missing from the last two years. Anyone else notice this?? I only looked because somehow I did good last year and I wanted to see what I did. Just curious if PBS was against me. (again) Thanks.
