I used to fly for a -200F operator. Freight can make a lot of money, if you do it right.
I always expected NWA to buy B787s or B777s, convert all the B747-400s to B747-400BCFs, and replace the -200s with them. Some of NWA's -400s are almost 20 years old, perfect candidates for freighter operations. http://i970.photobucket.com/albums/a...riffin/757.jpg |

If I were one of our 747-400's, I'd be rooting to be sold off to Aerolineas Argentinas. After putting in 20 or so years with NWA flight attendants, I would have paid enough dues to have earned this.... :D

Agreed. Makes us look like union thugs. Definitely does not help our case.
Noone likes the rat. The first point is that the intended audience doesn't like it either, so you need to look beyond how it makes you feel. The second point is that we are union thugs. That is to say, we can be union thugs if we want. When you start thinking of yourself as above this sort of thing, management notices. That's precisely the moment they stop looking at you in terms of a potential threat. Let's not forget that we are, each of us, one of 12,000 assets that the company relies on the conduct business. It doesn't matter how lofty our ideals, and our sense of self-worth: management views us without maudelin sentiments, the way a store owner might view the guard dogs he leaves on the property at night. A pilot that can't stomach union tactics is like a dog that won't bear it's teeth when pushed beyond the threshold: it'll only get invite more abuse. Or, if it's lucky and whimpers enough, it'll get "promoted" to lap-dog status, and pee the rug when it overflows with gratitude from receiving the occasional pat on the head. |
The caption said she was a Aerolineas Argentina flight attendant.
So, if you were a -400 would you want to fly freight, ot would you want to fly this???? I think I would be brushing up on my Spanish. :D |
Polls are closed.
When can we expect results? |

One word: 747-200F. Do not put them away, since we closed ANC just base them in SEA and keep going. :D There would be a lot of happy folks.
Would we ever do a 747-400BCF (boeing converted freighter)? Since the 747-400 didn't fall out of the 5 year plan like it was rumored it would then how about just putting it in the 10 year plan with a conversion? |

Maybe even unbuttoned coats (for the hard core radicals). That rocking chair in the shrink's office was there for a reason. |

Flew with a guy that loved the rat. To quote: "Blow up the RAT!". Maybe they'll get the idea that mushrooming the membership is not the way to lead. |
