Actually the establishment did VERY well, almost a clean sweep.
The Chairman of C44 has done an excellent job and I expected him to do much better than he did in the election. Larry did not even appear to run and he got nearly a landside vote. I'd like to know how he did it and learn from his highly effective methods. |

Maybe even unbuttoned coats (for the hard core radicals). That rocking chair in the shrink's office was there for a reason. |
A question for all you reserve gurus. If the bid package says "min days on 4" and "max days on 99" and I am coming from a regular line in November will I be able to bid days off over 4,5,6 or will the "min days on 4" restrict me from getting the 4th off? Same thing but the end of the month, do I have to leave the last 4 days of the month on call or can I have x-days until the 28th and then be on call for 29,30,31 (with the possibility of Jan. 1 being the 4 day)?
I haven't bid reserve since it came to PBS. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Denny |
A couple of observations/comments on my part. First off, deer in MN are incredibly difficult right now. They don't understand they are supposed to be on my table not lounging without being able to take a shot. Stupid deer. Oh well, they live another year at least.
Second, the elections are done and I am encouraged by what I see. Our Captain reps will bring some fresh insight, goals and expectations with them. Our FO reps are also going to be served well. I knew Larry during furlough and he was always a straight up guy who was always available for the furloughees. I suspect he garnered many votes because of that reputation. Armando is also a tiger on Scope. My earliest memories of him started in 2001 when he was highly engaged on the ALPA national forums defending Scope and taking on the RJDC guys. If you know nothing else about the guy, he is definitely going to hold the feet to the fire on Scope issues. One candidate that didn't win, but that I do firmly believe will serve the pilot group well over his career was David Nestor. Even though he was hired in 2007, he has a tremendous depth of knowledge of our company and our pilot group. While he made not have had the name recognition that Armando or Larry had, he definitely was their equal when it came to his passion for this airline and our group. I believe a lot of guys who interacted with him will attest to this fact. I believe his name will become common with our group over the years and have no doubt we will see him on the ballot in the future. Congrats to all and a good race done by everyone who took the time and energy to participate! Also, thanks to those on here who took the time to answer my questions or give me their opinions about the race. This forum is a great idea exchange and it served me well during this process. |

Scoop But nobody could out-smart Snake Pliskin. The Brain's girlfriend was the best though. http://www.amoeba.com/dynamic-images...d/adrienne-1-2 |
Congratulations to the newly elected C44 LEC reps!
The good news is that 38% of the C44 pilots participated by voting in this election (that's quite a bit more than we usually get)! That bad news is that over 60% of the C44 pilots didn't think it was important enough to take a minute or two of their time to vote. I believe that all of the newly elected reps are the types who will listen with an open mind to input from the members they represent. IMO, it is going to be extremely important that we provide them with that input! |
Well these guys will help determine the opener for 2012. Make your opinion known!
