Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?

Cycle-
Be careful. It sounds like you've got it, but remember there's a big difference between voluntary and mandatory displacements.
Your VOLUNTARY displacement bid will normally mirror your AE bid exactly. Both of those are bids that you want. Don't put anything on those lists unless you want it.
Your MANDATORY displacement list can include all those positions you want but it should also include positions you DON'T want unless you are forced out of your current position. You need to include those in the order you prefer or crew resources will just assign you one.
Clear as mud?

I would always have a mandatory displacement bid in the system. Its foolish not to. Even if it seems highly unlikely that you will get bumped, you never know.
In your case (ATLM88B) I would at least bid the NYC categories in the order you prefer.
777 - 7ER - 73N. Or M88 if you dont want to go to the schoolhouse.

Can I bid DAL 2009 HIRE any aircraft, anywhere?

The AE will come out tomorrow in some form. Also, the determination on displacements, hiring, etc., will also come out tomorrow. Expect a Flt. Ops memo to everyone tomorrow night detailing what they do.

I wasn't commenting relative to aircraft deliveries. Simply pointing out if they want to fiill January training slots, I believe the contract requires one month notice. The bids have to be open for 10 days before they close, so a posting on the 20th with a close on the 30th should meet those requirements. But as you say, if they don't need the slots in Jan, then the bid can wait.

Does it matter that I'm on MIL leave while the AE comes out? Thanks.

Big day tomorrow...total coincidence, but the 20th is the deadline for NWA's monthly Advance Position Awards. Hopefully there will be lots of good news to go around.
