Evidently yesterdays Q&A in the crewroom incited some questions concerning DFW and why Delta is not putting more focus on DFW and international flying out of DFW by Delta Air Lines. The answer was that why go somewhere you have to compete? (read- we're all about margin and that won't give us margin just like the crown jewel but overly saturated LAX-Asia market won't give us much margin... yet) Why provide an international flight from DFW to wherever if we don't have local feed.
So on that note I have 2 questions.
1) If we win JAL might we see DFW-NRT flights? Right now AMR does their flights for them and there are 2 per day on the 772s. JAL pulled out and allowed the code share to do the flights but now?
2) For muscle flexing purposes could we get either AF/KLM or JAL to allow us to do feed on their behalf? To see a DAL widebody in DFW would get a lot of folks attention, especially in the Dallas area and maybe create presence in an inverse way- start big and then go small thanks to Skyteam. I'm sure they'd love to get an American partner in Dallas.

Now that's just crazy talk there. Everyone knows that you build up your presence in a city with CRJ-200's.
The 40 is actually the "Diamond Star." It's basically their answer to the Cirrus. Nice plane! It's got a G1000 with synthetic vision and full VNAV capable autopilot. Complete EFB on board, XM NEXRAD weather package uplink (radar, sigmets, airmets, all metars and tafs...), and a 4'11" asian massage specialist that makes all your landings happy.
So far beyond what we have in our cockpits!
I've always wanted to fly the Twin Star (DA42). Sure looks neat, and I gotta say I wondered how that thing performed when a motor decided to take a nap.

I mean what we have is good enough to do the job, but still, but here is to hoping that one day this stuff flows "up".

Picture posted for the purpose of illustrating to those who might now know it exactly what a Cessna 172 cockpit looks like these days. All $150,000 of it.

And speaking of that, do you think the moderators would allow me to make this Tsquares avatar without his permission?

Super Man
Still looking for a topless picture of Lane Kiffin, not his wife, the coach himself. Thats the only thing I think T would hate more.

He also specifically said the DFW-AMS flight by KLM was "beyond horrendous"
Unless we hub-up and come up with a lot of feed, don't see how we could make it any more productive.
All of the DFW questions came from DFW commuters. At some point, you just gotta let it go.
Yeah, I was just throwing a bone in there. People like to discuss DFW although there have been obviously grumblings of a return. I'm all for it, I might move up in ATL.
Oh well, I need to do something productive, I think I'm going to go ahead and go into work.

FTB, I'm still counting the levels... Is that what passes for art down on the Plains? Did you have to Google that pic or did you pull it from your personal collection? Not that there is anything wrong with that!
Heyas Guys:
NuGuy's Thread Summary o' the week:
1) JAL still may or may not happen.
2) Additional airplanes may or may not happen
3) No 100 seaters
4) No bankable airplane growth
5) LGA and JFK seemed to be getting bogged down. LGA later than expected, and the BoD didn't approve some JFK plans.
6) The company may or may not be able to tweak the numbers to show "profitability"
7) fNWA and fDAL guys have different ideas on "commutability"
8) There are topics that are better left to other places.
9) This thread has way more attention than posters.
10) Gutter is still a tool.
Note, this is a summary of the "information" presented in this thread. Any relation to actual facts or information (living, dead or undead) is purely coincidental.
Time to move on folks....
