I guess the $$$ question is what your definition of "some" is. Could this mean US Air will have to sell some of their DCA slots (which they're getting from us) since the sticking point was reportedly JB wanting access to DCA. |
How's this for conspiracy theory:
We got shot down this morning by JAL and got the swap approved this afternoon. Could this just be a Machiavellian plan to get DOT to approve the swap and then the ETIC comes in and overrules the JAL CEO and we end up getting both. |

Remember this isn't the final ruling from the DOT. This just opens up the 30 day comment window after which the final ruling will be issued. |

I do not think the two are intertwined. I do beleive that the ETIC needs to support the deal. I have seen no press stating that they have backed JAL's decision. Also the Japanese do not make comments like have posted on other threads unless there is a reason for it. It is just not their culture. |
