The article says JAL would slash its own services to code-share on DL. But Im wondering how that would play out long term. When JAL returns to financial health, would it really allow most of its Japan-US flights to simply be flown on DL instead of its own metal?

JAL and Delta
If JAL shares are going up, I wonder why DAL is going down? Do the financial markets think it's bad for Delta?

The Street was calculating the cost of blowing slides yesterday. :D Or maybe people are thinking they want to cash out a little on DAL stock.
Ia, since you had a baby in November you are a prime candidate to join the late night Latest & Greatest about Delta hosted by the nocturnal 80 Knots Clamp with occasional posts by ACL! Posts occur from 12-1am, 1-2am, 3-4am but never after 4am and the host doesn't show back up til noon but I'm sure you'll be back at around 5-6am and 6-7am. We're dealing with the teething phase right now, lots of snot and slobber and I'm here from 12-3am. |

This SLI would be another very difficult proposition.
Category/Status ratios plus an "x" factor for "wide bodied" international flying expectations. With AAA/AWA, Nicolau was faced with a somewhat similar scenario. He stapled 517 AAA pilots on the top of the list to account for the "wide bodied" international flying and then applied category status for the similar fleet types. The 517 AAA pilots on the top of the list were the total number of captains + the total number of first officers flying wide bodied international. The first officer numbers were added on top to account for wide bodied expectations and longevity. Not sure if the same disparity exists in longevity, so perhaps all the wide bodied F/O positions wouldn't be considered, but some factor would be used. With DAL/NWA once again category status dominated the award plus an "x" factor for longevity. Naturally, there would be a great deal of angst driven rhetoric tossed about in an SLI. However, at the end of the day it will all come down to category/status ratios plus an "x" factor for longevity and expectations. We would either get there on our own and negotiate it or an arbitrator will award it. |

Has anyone called crew resources and pestered them about when the projected training and category lists are going to be posted? I don't want to call and bug them if someone already has.

Heheh... you are sooo right. I was on Facebook at 2am. I had stopped by this thread earlier but hadn't added anything. (I think - I've only been up a short bit). My shift right now is 10pm through 2am, but the hours can vary - last night I got rerouted and was up until 3a. ;-)
