Those engines are huge.

Will the 747-800 be more fuel efficient than the 777?

Stupid question.

I call out sick. During the time I'm sick, I miss a 4-day trip. In the schedulers eyes, I was sick for a total of 6 days.

Do I lose 6 days of pay out of my sick bank, or do they only charge you for the days you were supposed to work?

Either for the trip you missed or for the reserve days you missed.

Sure bet we could hit Latin America from both. :D

(allows the US to get around issues with transitory passengers on US soil. Not GUM but the other two)

Yea, a hub in Beijing or Shanghai would be nice, but I can see the Chinese as demanding too much - making it not profitable for us. Sure - they might allow us to fly a few routes from S. Asia to Shanghai, but not the profitable ones. I think they are still very protectionist over there.

Today:

BEIJING (Reuters) - Senior Chinese military officers have proposed that their country boost defense spending, adjust PLA deployments, and possibly sell some U.S. bonds to punish Washington for its latest round of arms sales to Taiwan.

Lets put it a few ways and you decide what you are paid.

reserve:
Even if you are assigned a trip then call out sick, you are only paid and credited from your sick bank for the reserve credit per work day. Not each day if some were off days, but not X or * days.

line holder:
You are paid and credited from your sick bank for lost flying, not days. Ala 21 hrs trip over four days, 21hrs from your sick bank. This holds true for all trips.

You can call the training planners through the VRU at 800-325-2739. I think you select scheduling then training planning.
