...just sayin' Cheers George They added a seat, which means one person could be setting up to leave. (read, smooth transition of power on the board) If he does leave that leads me to ask two questions..... 1) Where would he go? JAL 2) How long is RA thinking of staying? There is always movement of the top after the successes they have had. I always assumed that the top would go and many would move up. You could be correct though. Timing is right on the money either way. |

Do tell more because their are folks like me don't know much about him.
But as we've said, its nice to have a good relationship with management, yeah team!, but then we have to always always plan contracts and the like for when we have someone who doesn't like us. Not saying thats the case with EB because I don't know but it should always be the case with our planning as a pilot group. |

I think the reason most have a bad stance on him is simple. His comment about losing sleep by not getting enough of a pay cut from the pilots during CH11. That is the root of most the angst as far as I am aware.
Having personally met him and seeing his responses to a CA's very to the point questions, I don't trust the guy as far as I could throw him. After that assault, he turned to me and asked me if I had any input or anything. (this was right as the merger was getting going...) I told him "We're going in the right direction now...don't screw it up." I suppose he did come through on that part.... |

Well there I was over in Asia back in January reading from the usual "in crowd" of relative new hires (hired within the last three years or so) tell us all how Anderson and et all were on their way to Japan and of the ensuing press conference of our new venture with JAL. For those of us that have been here longer I say what I was told years ago by a seasoned vet, don't believe it until it's painted in your colors and your rear end is flying it. The guys on this thread that profess to know really don't. I know they are only trying to connect the dots. Well maybe they should turn the page around.

Slot swap approved:
DOT: Delta, US Airways can swap slots - Yahoo! Finance By Harry R. Weber, AP Airlines Writer , On Tuesday February 9, 2010, 4:20 pm ATLANTA (AP) -- The government says Delta Air Lines and US Airways can swap takeoff and landing slots at airports in New York and Washington, but there's a catch: They must sell some of the slots to protect competition. A slot is an interval of time during which an airline can takeoff or land its aircraft at an airport. US Airways agreed in August to transfer 125 operating slot pairs to Delta at LaGuardia Airport in New York. In exchange, Delta agreed to transfer 42 operating slot pairs to US Airways at Reagan National Airport in Washington. The Transportation Department said Tuesday it has tentatively allowed the transaction to proceed as long as the airlines sell some of their slot interests to carriers with no or limited service at the two airports |

RATS!! You just beat me. ;) I wonder how many slots we have to sell? JB probably wants into DCA, but who still wants into LGA? More slots for SWA or AT maybe? |

I guess the $$$ question is what your definition of "some" is. Could this mean US Air will have to sell some of their DCA slots (which they're getting from us) since the sticking point was reportedly JB wanting access to DCA. Is there much interest out there for LGA slots? |
