We just wiped out a bunch of our people and the company raped and pillaged among the survivors.

Was JAL's only problem that they had overextended their network, or was it also comparatively high unit costs? If it's not just a network problem, and they are getting 5% in BK, and that indicates the limit of their ability to restructure, then maybe they're not doing it right.

I know I'm thinking like management, which comes with its' own perverted brand of logic, but I don't see how 5% cuts are material. Maybe it's because our cut was one order of magnitude higher.

Agreed. Gotta love the the BK judges over here.:mad:

Actually it is very Japanese. Normally they will pay everyone less and keep more. Americans do not like this, and prefer to cut more and pay the remaining staff the same.

My wife's company did the Japanese thing and gave across the board cuts but kept everyone. The Japanese bosses did not like that and told them to restore wages and cut 25% of the work force. They argued that, that logic would not work in this country as ppl would lose their loyalty to the company if the cut their wages for too long. So they did what the owners suggested. Cut 25% of the workforce and reinstated wages and 401K matching.

Alright alright, for fairness, especially since I'm just a civilian :D, the F-22 from my slum hometown flying over Ft. Monroe (also in the same town and looking out towards Navy Norfolk). Check out the base housing on the only remaining fort with a moat... I think they're closing Ft. Monroe or trying. Imagine the value of those homes on the waterfront? Too bad nobody in the area has the coin to buy it. Speaking of LFI, where is Ferd btw?

The public statement was:
They were not sure where the 765 fit in NYC after this summer. They did not insinuate a larger or smaller category up there, only that there was a decision that was going to be made.

I guess it is time to dig. All of I have heard is that, there is a ?-mark up there with the 765. No more no less.
