Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
ACL,
My point was not to stop anyone from picking up extra time. My point is we should have a pay rate that gives us a good income based on working a "normal" month (if there is such a thing). That baseline should be based on the reserve guarantee because guys on reserve don't have much opportunity for extra time (being on call 18-19 days a month).

That is why there have been many suggestions to have reserve guarantee be based on ALV minus a number.
[quote= sure they fly everyone to 69.5 hours but thats the contract. Thats how the system works when its not a seniority based system with junior pilots flying every day for 90 hours and senior reserve pilots flying near 0.[/quote]
They used to fly you to 69.9 every time under POS 96 as well. My point is, they learn to game the system to their advantage just as we learn to game the system. Rules change but there is always a better mousetrap!

Ahhh.. the usual arrogance. Must feel good to be all puffed up and awesome.
I was giving him crap #1 because thats most of what he does on here, and #2, he's senior enough to fly a different airplane and have a choice in what he flies, but chooses to be on reserve on a larger plane and complain.
Got it?
The reserve rules need improvement... doesn't mean I'm going to whine incessantly like I've got sand stuck all where you've obviously got more than enough.

From the TWG Notepad:
Short Call
After the awarding/assigning of next-day open time, the crew scheduler decides how many short call periods he will need the following day and what time coverage is needed. The crew scheduler then takes the remaining unassigned pilots and awards short call taking into account any yellow slips for short call which have been submitted. There is no contractual provision which requires this be done by seniority order, RAW score or any other method.
Crew Scheduling will attempt to notify (via a phone call) a pilot of an assignment to a short call period (see the Required Schedule Checks section below for exceptions to this):
• The pilot must acknowledge no later than one hour prior to the beginning of the short call
period, and
• Once assigned a short call a 10-hour free of duty period begins prior to the actual start time of the short call period.
---
But here is a question, because you are on LC until you are converted to SC, if they assign you SC this morning at 11am and it starts tomorrow at 2pm or 27 hours later. So you're on LC until then right, so if they want you to fly at 6am tomorrow then they have until 6pm tonight to make first contact with you, right?

Correct. Rest only for the 10 hrs preceding SC. Until that rest window you are on SC and they can and will amend it. Look for that to happen a lot this summer.
