Marchin' in to chow. That brings back some memories.

Anybody ID these Marines?

I think Crenshaw is 4th from left?
Gunny Goforth 6th from left?
SSGT Bowling is in there. SSGT Washington on the far left?
Can't remember the Master Gunny's name. Flager or something?
GYSGT Holtry and SSGT Gerhart on the right?

I still beleive that there should be some added benefit for a guy to fly a line over a reserve line. Like picking up time.

No one is arguing that it should be better. It was to add points to the baseline that Sailingfun was making.
ACL,

My point was not to stop anyone from picking up extra time. My point is we should have a pay rate that gives us a good income based on working a "normal" month (if there is such a thing). That baseline should be based on the reserve guarantee because guys on reserve don't have much opportunity for extra time (being on call 18-19 days a month).

That's a great thought and I just did that two years ago except I've been going backwards again for the last two years (same with all the captains I've been flying with). A 20 year captain (guys I fly with) and a 10 year FO (me) shouldn't be struggling as a narrow body BOTTOM lineholder (right or left seat). In addition, making less than $100K to boot. That's in addition to still paying off the bills from my 4 year furlough. We have a long way to go make this a decent job.

Yeah I think it was Fleiger.. Uh Crenshaw is the large black man at the top. I'd recognize his boots anywhere. 2nd from left was SSGT McQuigg I think. I still have tinitus from that little dude. Damn that hurt. I think I have that same picture somewhere... what class were you? 06-85 here... Crenshaw was a beast. Wasnt Gofort the one that always had the slogans? We made fun of that with "06-85, born to sleep, trained to slime.. leisure is good!" Ahhhh memories.

I was giving him crap #1 because thats most of what he does on here, and #2, he's senior enough to fly a different airplane and have a choice in what he flies, but chooses to be on reserve on a larger plane and complain.

Got it?

The reserve rules need improvement... doesn't mean I'm going to whine incessantly like I've got sand stuck all where you've obviously got more than enough.
I apologize wholeheartedly. I didn't know that he was "senior enough to fly a different airplane and have a choice in what he flies" ..... Would that be a 777 FO that earns less than those annoying LCC guys across the field.

DAL is a great carrier and it is not well served by cheerleaders. Unless you are a senior captain or a 21 year old girl.

Do the math and get a grip. Good luck to all of us.

Class 03-85. Gunnery Sargeant Goforth. United States Marine Corps.

Born to die.
Trained to kill.

Is there a time limit that scheduling can not call you before a SC period? Anybody else have problems getting through to scheduling lately?

You can request this from your scheduler - if they say no, 2 hours is the "expected" report time.

Gunny Holtry - I think he is the fourth from the right.

Scoop - Class 31-86

I thought you were released 10 hours prior. But I don't know if that means they can't call you, or if you're just not obligated to answer.
