Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I can see recalls probably in the fall... as far as newhires, probably not.
They would need to hire for spring/summer flying so that would logically dictate early 2011 newb classes (much like last time... interviews starting in jan 07 with classes starting early feb).
Heyas,
I'd treat this with a great deal of skepticism.
It's already April. We still have people in the pipeline from the last bid. We have probably 300, if not more, who are on furlough bypass or long term leave to get back on the property.
To have a shot at this, our bypass bros would need to already have their letters IN hand, and be making plans to be back in the schoolhouse yesterday and plans for interviewing folks would already have to be in the advanced stages.
What's more likely is letters going out to bypass peeps, plus ANOTHER bid here in a month or so. Digesting all of those folks over the course of the year, and MAYBE seeing new hires 1st quarter of next year.
Hate to rain on parades, but the company's current actions don't really forecast newhires until the new year.
I hope I'm wrong.

We have 350 guys on Furlough By-pass and 500 guys on Military Leave. The hiring and the numbers will vary depending on how many guys come back.

True but sad. I hardly ever go on there. This site is much mo betta.
So what is the deal with this AA/JetBlue agreement? They are calling it "seamless service". How is that even possible with no codeshare, no co-terminals, and no scope relief from APA? They are saying no codeshare, but are touting a marketing agreement at the same time... Really odd considering the recent tie-up with LH and Jetblue. The articles make a good point in that trying to get from the AA terminal to the Jetblue terminal would be a real hassle, and I imagine the same would go for the interline baggage. It just sounds like a real mess in the making.
What are the predicitions on the number of furlough bypass guys/gals that will come back? I'd bet no more than half. I know of two DAL-N guys that bypassed and are not coming back. If they don't come back this time around, what are their options? I know it was a 10-year bypass option, but I think they can extend more than that can't they?

My philosophy for coming back was: it's not what it once was but its still better than most. A lot of guys have found that there are greener pastures outside of DAL and airline flying in general.

Good information from the guys, but the actual user interface of the board leaves a lot to be desired.
