As I've said before, SC needs to be a higher-paying option that we bid for, and that's assigned, in seniority order, automatically and without scheduler input. Make better availability financially rewarding, and set up "shifts" to cover regular flying. Almost like rotations we can bid for in PBS.

Spot on all the way around.

Especially when offered in response to the mere mentioning of the term, with nothing else behind it.

The SLI stuff is over. What we do not need is for anyone to imply that anyone else should be embarrassed by what their MEC/Merger committee did or didn't do or what industry standard term they did or didn't come up with.

If my sides argument was weakened by the term, great. If you think the arbitrators punished the North because of it. Outstanding. But, at this point, what's the point?

Our side tried. Your side tried. Both sides think they got screwed.

All I'm saying is that your observation is not helpful.

Addition:

Look. I like you guys and I'm sure you guys like us. But, when it is said that there is something to be embarrassed about, I reject that. Just like you guys should reject our overtures that your procedures are backwards. From everything I've seen so far, there are some simple things we can do to avoid the flame.

North Guys:

1.) Maybe we should be more respectful when we complain about the new procedures and policies. DAL did manage to fly before the merger.

2.) Every DAL/MEC policy or pilot is not out to get us. Let's pick our battles.

3.) The SLI is over.

South Guys:

1.) Please don't tell North guys how much money the merger afforded to us, implying that it should buy our silence.

2.) The SLI is over.

Frankly, for me those rehashes of sli and payrates have long since gotten old for this southie. However, I still chuckle when anyone says Super Premium Widebody Flying.

Premerger, someone on the DALS side said those planes were met by brass bands harkening their arrival. And the pilot uniform was different, SPWB pilots wore band leader hats and commodore shoulder boards.

The visual still tickles my funnybone when I hear it. Sorry.

OK I heard this rumor and I hope it is just that.... UAL is SCOP'd to 70 seat a/c at regionals. UAL is now telling their pilots that Republic Airlines will now enter OneWorld as its own airline, selling its own tickets, and will fly E190s with 100 seats as a code share under Star Alliance , thus bypassing SCOPE and the UAL pilots.

So if it does happen... Could it spread here to DAL with SkyTeam? Does anything in our SCOPE prevent it??

You have to know the rule the politicians put in place to benefit themselves. And yes 10 acres of swampland counts.

Not intended as tax or investment advice.

Oneworld is AMR. Start is UAUA. Depends. I would venture to bet it could happen here if Skyteam started being called airline and we became a third party contractor.

Hi hiring! Nice, If they want us to buy them, they better hope to get that HND slot They get that, and they will not be independent for long.

Quite true. Why do you think most Texans own land. Put a few cows on it, and off you go.

Scambo,

Trust me. I think they could have come up with a better term. I am not defending it. It is kind of funny. But, it is a little offensive to tell one side that they should be embarrassed for anything.

Sorry to be making such a big deal out of it. But, I understand your position now. I will tread lightly when I talk about the new DAL procedures that I am now evaluating. I won't use word's like, backwards, dark ages, stupid, ridiculous, or that you guys should be embarrassed to have used them.

Both pre-merger pilot groups are a proud bunch for good reason and neither side should feel embarrassed for anything.

As you can see, I hate that word.

I look forward to seeing you in any North base. It is as much yours as it is mine. Welcome! I'll show you around, buy you a coffee, and point out where the Super Premium Widebodies park. (By the fountain in DTW and Micky D's in MSP.)
