I always though it got reset on your pass anniversary date or when the vacation year starts over.
Interesting. Love all the ways to skin the same cat. Unless the fleet comes out and says, "this is the way" I'll bet it will just be left up to the capt. Indecision is the key to flexibility and flexibility is the key to airpower
We never had much of a problem with landings, as there was a domestic leg in and out of BOS or JFK (then back and forth to AMS) so the real crew got their landings ok. You would have to ask a DTW guy if that was a problem since they did DTW to AMS. As the JAFA, I always had a DH (ie to and from BOS) starting and ending the trip. But, I've never had a problem with landings since I mix up domestic and international......and on the asia stuff I get lots of landings too.
Who sits where? The capt always sits in his seat whenever he is in the cockpit. The first FO slides over to the left for middle break and then goes back when the capt (off middle break) comes back up. Junior FO from first break sits right the entire time.

I know this has the potential to sound like another food fight, but I think I like our way much better. Being junior I would always be stuck with first break on your system, even if it was my leg. Trying to land in high winds and crappy wx in JFK or London with no sleep would not be safe.
One of my favorite quotes BTW. A true Air Force Vet you are. We have to stick together with all these squids and Jar Heads in this company!

Look at the bright side, at least you're not stuck in Mumbai. I just went through there and saw many aircraft (and I'm guessing crews) stuck there. Of note was a DL 332 and a UPS 744. What's the usual routing for that DL 332?
Our way is the RP takes whomever is on break's seat. Lately I've had captains give up both legs so FOs could get landings. The old standard was CA always flew over and FO flew back. Now it's about 50/50 over or back. Most guys will give you a choice.

To tell ya the truth, yes you would be stuck with the first break a lot. I remember one trip, on the way back from AMS, I gave the other FO his pick since I had "taken" the last break going over. He said he didn't care, so I shacked him with the first break again.......he wasn't happy
. Hardly talked to me at all when he came up.Yeah, you me a and Buzz gotta stick together. Just remember, thems Jar Heads was just PE majors who couldn't pass the AFOQT. Kidding, just kidding........I'm love'en the HBO series "Pacific"! Some tough kids, I don't think I could have done that.

Yeah, the DL330 is waiting to go back to AMS. At least they can ferry it to NRT or something and at least escape "someday".
Is there a way to pull up your past monthly flying history with flight times/city pairs in Icrew or some other place??
