I have heard we MUST sell it prior to the new choices or it will be sold and placed into one of the predesignated funds.....any truth to this?
What are the opinions out there on these changes?

I'm under the impression they are getting rid of Fidelity to go with someone cheaper. I'm not sure if that's correct or not, but that's the impression I get.

Not true - Kevin P, the ALPA Retirement and Insurance guy said the following in the ALPA forum:

"No action is required on your part in regards to the Pilots ER Stock Fund, which is the equity shares received as a result of the merger. Those shares will remain in your account after the plan transition."

(Sinca - thanks for bringing that up - it was on my mind, but I hadn't gone and found the answer yet.)

Yep - that's what I heard too. No need to do anything with the Delta stock.

It is not the delta stock that they are going to convert. We are also not dumping Fidelity.

What is going on is that we are converting from a huge list of funds that require a decent chunk of change to manage to I beleive 27 funds. It is a much smaller list, but the fees associated with these will be a lot smaller and therefore for the average investor at Delta Air Lines, easier and cheaper to manage.
For guys like me, I want the options and I still can have that. What you need to do is set up the Brokerage Account. It will allow you to siphon off your money and invest it as you currently are doing.

Delta Mailed a package to your house (Should have arrived on Saturday or Monday) detailing the new plan and all that entails.

As for Kevin. Listen to him. He is as smart as they come.

I know I could of bid to DTWDC9B if I wanted to avoid commuting and reserve, but I made a choice to stay on my equipment.

Yes, but for many of us BP5 was October 1 and the positions we were in were bid under the fNW contract. Block and Reserve were separate categories and if you fell of the bottom of blockholder you got the equivalent of MD.

After BP5 we could AE or VD but generally you weren't getting MD rights unless your airplane was going away. Being involuntarily moved to reserve didn't get you an MD in October or January.

I am hoping that you have a new brokerage account if you had one on the NWA side of things. Hopefully we get some good info on this and not the same kind of info for Phase 6. I have not gotten a package yet.

I know it was sent out the the PMDAL pilots. I am looking at it right now.

As for Phase six. Well it was uncomfortable for you guys to say the least, but from what I am hearing you are getting the hang of it. I guess that was figured it to the cost. :D I keed I keed

Saw it while back on Deltanet but can't find it now - the ATL/MSP Training Center Handout. Anyone remember where?

AWABS/WDR question: is it true the line guys don't trust the lowest de-rate TO settings and the "gouge" is to go down to the 3rd de-rate setting?

Took off out of LAS as few days ago at a AT49 - made all the restrictions plus a few thousand feet, but sure seemed doggy for a 757
