Excellent! I'm glad it worked for you too. :)

For me, we are celebrating my daughters 1st Birthday Party.:)

We are adding what, 3 or 4 destinations from JFK this summer? Throw in added frequency and you get maybe 10 additional crews a day. On the other hand, I may not know what the heck I'm talking about.

FTB, that is not a cue for you to make a witty remark!

I kind of agree. NYC 88 B for next month is staffed with plenty of reserves. Even after PCS ran, there's barely any open time and most of the days are still above mins. I'm wondering if the company staffed for the LGA slot transaction on the -88, but now that we're not getting the extra flying for the summer, we'll be overstaffed. Is the schedule going to really change that much from May to June?

FTB; is that video going to play when you get a pop up notification that you have been 23Ked? :D

(The storm trooper got you pilot XXXX. )

That'd be awesome! You'd go to work laughing even though you just got screwed.

That or just a Rick Roll. :D

Another thing of masterful perfection by ftb. Choosing the picture that I just can't resist to click on and then crew scheduling awesomness ensued.

I hear they actually make that motion everytime someone gets 23k'd.

Also I wanted to say about the reserves in the ER in NYC, it seems that last month there was a lot of MSP and DTW pilots cycling through for their TOEs - which resulted in a lot of recovery flying for the pilots displaced for those TOEs, so we (the reserves) didn't fly. Add in a lot of white slips...

Unless I get a trip (or more precisely, a landing) next week, I'm off to ATL for landings.

I had to call them for the same thing. They said "watch your schedule", sure sh.... I had a domestic trip a day later... It is what it is...

Yea, I know. I was just used to my old company, where if you didn't pester them about things like that, it fell through the cracks.

Just make sure you don't run out of currency. It just happend to an ER guy in NYC. Full check ride to go for him....

They were the junior blockholders that used to take the 68 hours of pay to sit reserve at home.

Now we have commuters on Reserve that get a SC day, they show up for SC, they commute home on a 3 hour flight, to find a message from scheduling that they are on SC the very next morning.

SC needs to be tweaked because guys that were forced to reserve without being allowed to bid off to another plane where they could be blockholder (BP5), end up calling in sick for SC rather than be fatigued. Some improvements were mentioned in an earlier post. The randomness of SC assignment seems to be a big factor.

Just my opinion.

As a FDAL and now current DAL guy, short call is a crap shoot and needs to be addressed in the next contract. I'm on reserve and am sitting short call tonight with a "golden day," meaning hard no fly day, starting at midnight tonight.

Essentially, that means I'm sitting short call with the schedulers having absolutely no chance of using me because they can't fly me into a golden day.

Short call scheduling, as it currently sits, is inefficient. We should also get credit in our raw score, which we don't, for sitting SC.

You are so right. The SC when you are having a GD is nonsense, just like not getting a score for it. This must be adressed by our union ( I think they are called ALPA) and I see no reason why this should wait a second longer.

On the -88 in NYC, we get SC on our last day all the time. It's usually an early short call, but we can easily be used to cover an "out and back" trip or a shuttle trip. I do agree, though, that there needs to be an increase in RAW score and some limitations on how short calls are assigned so we can plan our life a little easier. This would especially help those of us commuting from long distances. (And please don't make this a "you choose to commute" debate!) :)
